Eurovision 2022 – This year we resumed the “Eurovision Times Awards” to give prizes (the Fridas) for the best in every category! ET regular members made recommendations and open polls were open for a full week and winners were announced. Discover the full results now!
2022 was the nineth year for Eurovision Times to organize the Eurovision Times Awards, after last year’s contest was cancelled, preventing us from hosting this new yearly tradition. The principle of the ET Awards is simple, in each categories, the staff of this website will nominate a few entries per categories and open polls for the public to vote in them so we can reveal afterwards all the winners. The winners recieve an imaginary trophee, entitled the Fridas in hommage to Frida Boccara, the French Eurovision winner in 1969 with “Un jour, un enfant“.

The Eurovision Times 
Part of the Amfissa olive grove, the oldest in Greece (3000 BC and UNESCO heritage site) has been destroyed by wild fires last night. The nearby landmark archeological site of Delphi and the Mount Parnassus National Forest have been spared the very last minute.
Every summer i dread which natural beauty will be lost to the flames. :(

Well,she’s one of the 10 Eurovision Fun nominees but I doubt she will actually do it or that ERT would pick her.
We had a NF about Vissiso it wasn’t anywhere close to be the actual entry.
He said he was close to representing Greece. I suppose, he means before Anna was internally selected.
I doubt ERT would have picked that drivel internally. I like Zacharatos but thr song is really bad.
I really like Takis Zaharatos as a show-man but I agree with Donnie. This is beyond awful. It actually gives me Angelica Agurbash vibes :P
I haven’t listened to it yet. Every time I watch Takis perform I stand in awe. He’s beyond talented.

This is not good at all.
Apparently Cyprus will be one of the hosts of Eurobasket 2025. This secures the first ever participation in a major European tournament. If the team doesn’t improve it will most probably lose all games in the range of 60-70 points margin 😃
that’s something positive right?, here in Spain, noone ever expected Spanish basketball would be on the world stage, but look what happened in the end! Better to let us know what Cyprus has offered to the world? :-) many things am sure…

I agree with you, for me it’s a more of a song that sticks in my mind even now, plus the fact she was the reason there were no official “postcards” in 1977 (they showed shots of the audience), NRK said “her behaviour during the recording of the postcards was inapppriate” or something like that :-(

me too, it’s the kind of song that will always be a song my generation will remember “the girl who sang about Casanova” at Wembley…!
I think “Casanova” is more schlager’ish. I quite enjoy it too (catchy melody), but it’s a style of music that I have a rather strained relationship with.
“Oliver”, on the other hand, sounds more like a song that would have done well outside Eurovision. The song, along with the Swedish “Satellit”, represents a sound that was quite common at the time, at least in Scandinavia.

indeed I guess for their musical quality among fans (I was working in Hungary in 1994 too and remember the reaction about Friderika. I even wrote a song in English for her!…a national heroine!)..but in the end IMO she became a parody of herself, via her crazy religion…

I think that the most important thing is that the UK gets a decent and dull person who shapes policies based on reality instead of delusions of grandeur into Downing Street. Sir Keir fits that job decription imo, even though I am no huge fan of him either.
