The Artist: 3J’s

The band name is an allusion to the names of the three band members (all starting with a J): Jaap Kwakman and Jaap de Witte (guitars), Jan Dulles (vocals). They are Volendam in the north of Amsterdam and their songs are mostly in Dutch.

Their big breakthrough came with their album “Watermensen”


The Song

On January 30 the Dutch jury and public chose “Je vecht nooit alleen” as the Dutch entry for Eurovision 2011. The song will most certainly be translated into English for the international competition.

Here is the winning performance:

The band had composed 5 songs for a National final. The best song was chosen 50% by televotes and 50% by an independent jury. The band members said about their participation: “We have followed the Eurovision Song Contest for years and for us it’s a dream come true to finally be able to participate”

  1. Probably the best so far for me – it was well sung and a good performance…

    Would be a shame if it is translated into English – seems good enough as it is!

  2. I like the song in Dutch. Language is important for me, so I’m afraid I might lose interest in it if it is performed in English.

  3. I am so proud of our entry this year !!! I love this song very much, in Dutch but also in English !! I think this is the best entry since many years for NL. I hope they will make it to the final, They deserves it !!! Good Luck Netherlands !! Succes 3JS !! Ik ben trots op jullie !!
