The Artist:

The song “Aftur heim” was written by  Sigurjón Brink, who passed away shortly before the competition started. At the request of his family, the song remained in the competition and was be performed by some of Sigurjón’s  Friends. The tribute band consists of Hreimur Örn Heimisson, Gunnar Ólason, Benedikt Brynleifsson, Vignir Snær Vigfússon, Matthías Matthíasson and Pálmi Sigurhjartarson. Brink died aged 36, from a heart attack and leaves behind a wife and 4 children. His widow accepted the prize on his behalf.
