  1. Not a very interesting semi, I’m afraid. What is Omar doing here with that vapid song? King Foo and Nika have the most interesting proposals here. Congratulations to the qualifiers.

  2. Most of the songs were very well produced (and performed), but it doesn’t cover the fact that overall quality of the songs (music) was very low.

Many of the songs that we heard yesterday didn’t have any musical substance; they were simply bad songs in a good package (good production).

The outcome was expected, Omar Naber, Nika Zorjan and “Sell Out” were expected to qualify (I thought that the fourth qualifier would be Alya in staed of “King Foo”).

And, yes, the name of Nika’s composer is RAAY (not Maraaya; it is just the name of his band).
Raay is one of the best Slovene composers in recent years (he composed both 2014 and 2015 Slovene entries).

  3. It was such a weak semi. Not a single song/performance scored higher than 6/10 on my list. Tosca Beat were the most interesting ACT of the night.
Out of the qualifiers I kinda like FSE while I find Omar’s entry let’s just say irritating

  4. As for Sweden, the lyrics to “Gotta Thing About You” are absolutely atrocious.

“Every time you bake I wanna eat cake”

“You know just how to make a big dog bark
You make me wanna wag my tail”

    Oh my god

  5. I went through the longer MF snippets. MF remains firmly on plastic territory. :( ‘Crucified’ and ‘Boggieman blues’ are vaguley interesting and that is it. Songs sung by pretty boys will reach the final – there are 3 to choose from. Good luck!

  6. Slavko Kalezić has recorded the song titled ‘Space‘ in the capital of Sweden – Stockholm, earlier this week. Song was composed by Momcilo Zekovic, while Stefan Örn, Jovan Radomir and Johan Kronlund were responsible for production and arrangement.

    Who are they?

For all the careful companions of the Eurovision these names mean. Stefan Örn was the composer of Azerbaijani winning entry back in 2011 (Running Scared). Also, his team, including Johan Kronlund composed the songs Drip Drop, When the Music Dies and Start a Fire. All of this songs were well-noticed at Eurovision.

  7. O.Torvald-Time: Isn’s this arena rock?Anyway, his accent is atrocious and i also don’t like his voice. The song is nice, though and they may reach the final. 7.5/12

  8. Payushchie Trusy – “Singing Pants” : The vocals were ok but the whole concept very tacky and the stage interpretation even worse imo. A novelty act mostly. Not a promising start – 3/10

  9. O.Torvald – “Time” : A very decent rock-ish tune. Liked it quite a bit although diction could be better. The mock shooting part was bold and after that things took a turn to the more hardcore. Mixed feelings about that gimmick tbh – 6.5+/10

  10. Anastasia Prudius – “Flow” : I like her mostly, she is better than this song which just plodes along for the most part without getting exciting at any point – 6-/10

  11. Flow : I really liked it ! Her lower notes were confident while she cracked a few times on high notes. Still a very competent Ukrainian hopeful. One of the best!
    7,5/10
