The results show Romania’s Mandinga easily winning the vote of the Italian public in both the semifinal and the Grand Final. Albania and Moldova came second and third, respectively, on both shows. • correct. The amount of diaspora from them countries an a few others like turkey, russia, greece in europe makes a big difference in the outcome of voting.. Usually a negative impact.

  1. Where does all the money made from voting go to? Does it go to the national broadcaster in the country or does some go to EBU? Will we ever see end of televoting in most countries if it brings income in?

Also would stopping people voting make them turn off in their droves? I think it would. Despite the fact we all groan at some of the predictable voting, people who watch it still want to feel they have had their say, don’t you think?

  2. So the italian jury must have given 12 points to Germany and 10 to Cyprus, otherwise the combined 8 and 5 points to those countries couldn’t have happened
I guess this is the italian jury voting
    12 Germany
    10 Cyprus
    08 Russia
    07 Albania
    06 Denmark
    05 ?
    04 ?
    03 Serbia
    02 Ukraine
    01 ?
Pretty weird jury voting in my opinion :s

  3. Well obviously ”Italian” televoters were significantly less than ”diaspora televoters”. Don’t you agree? Italians still do not care to vote at all…

  4. Last year Italy gave 12 points to the U.K. but this year they barely gave any. What a surprise.
I guess the song was really not that good and was not for this year’s competition :-/

  5. There should be 30% Televote, 40% National Jury, 30% International Jury made up of well known singers, songwritters and choegraphers, form the USA, Australia and Canada.

  6. then there would be 30% Televote but 70% Jury altogether, we would definetly see some improved results for some countries. If the International Jury was made to award points by a list of strict criteria: Singing quality, Staging/Choegraphy, Lyrics and Music quality, Diction. Then the Jury socres would also be improved, to be honest I doubt that the Jurys actaully know what they are scoring on when it comes to the entries sometimes, and they still award more points to their neighbours, even if theres poor diction or the music quality is absoluatly Sh*t.

  7. The only sure thing is that Italian jury awarded their 12p to Germany ( Surprised ! NOT )
    10 TO Cyprus !!!
    8 to Russia !!!!!!!
    7 and 6 to Albania/Denmark , Denmark/Albania.
Serbia scored from 3 to 5 points
and Ukraine from 2 to 4 points.

Televoting diaspora mess is simply indicative of how Italians didn’t care enough to vote…
5 points to FYROM was the only surprise !

  8. Je quite like their votes and I do not think diaspora effected the results much. Romana had a very summerly Mediterranean song performed mainly in Spanish by a brunette sex vamp so there were not really alternatives for the average Italian to go for. On the other hand, the more artistic entries (Albania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) fit the sophisticated side of Italy. All others – except Moldova and that was summerly, too – are consistent with the international trends. Well done, Italy!
No further comments on the obviously political jury voting (12 to Germany, lol).

  9. Suggestion: As long as we have televoting, we could just show the participating countries’ flags on TV for three minutes without any music. The results would be the same and it would save a lot of money …

  10. i”m italian.I have voted in semi:San Marino,Iceland,Switzerland and Moldova.
In final:Iceland,Sweden,Spain,Serbia,France and Moldova.Last year Italy gives 12 point to Romania and 10 to uk!:

    • SAN MARINO! the Cheesy, Kitch and dated Eurotrash entry seriously I though Italians had more taste in music than that! I know you are nieghbours and everything, but seriously, San Marino? I’d understand voting for their best entry to date in 2011 but not this year, but then Italy was not in the same semi final in 2011 as San Marino.

  11. The Israeli jury votes have been going around the Internet too, although I’m not sure what the source is and therefore how reliable they are:

    12-Spain
    10-Sweden
    8- Italy
    7-Cyprus
    6-Greece
    5-Norway
    4-Moldova
    3-Romania
    2-Ukraine
    1-Albania
