Hungary: Heat 1 of A Dal Takes Place Tonight

Hungary – A Dal, the Hungarian selection show, starts tonight with ten artists performing in Heat 1, hoping to progress through to the semi-final stage. Freddie (Hungary, 2016) will host. Jury members are Bogi Dallos, Miklós, Misi Mező, Lilla Vincze and Feró Nagy. 

UK: Songs for Eurovision to be Revealed on Wednesday

UK – The BBC will reveal the 6 artists and 3 songs that will take part in this year’s national selection, Eurovision: You Decide, on Wednesday 23rd January 2019 from 10am. As usual it will be via the Ken Bruce radio show on BBC Radio 2. 

Spain: Listen to the Entries Online

Spain – RTVE, the Spanish broadcaster, has released the full versions of the ten songs that will compete in Spain’s national final to be held on Sunday night. The expert jury that will rank the songs is comprised of Tony Aguilar, Doron Medalie, Manuel Martos and Pastora Soler (Spain, 2012).

Croatia: 16 Finalists Revealed for Dora 2019

Croatia – 16 acts have been announced for the Croatian national final, Dora 2019.  The were internally chosen from 166 submissions. The final will be held on the 16th February 2019 in the coastal town of Opatije. 

Australia: Final Line-up Announced for Eurovision – Australia Decides

Australia – The final three acts have been announced by SBS for Eurovision – Australia Decides, the Australian national selection programme. Ella Hooper, Tania Doko and Alfie Arcuri complete the line-up.  

Belgium: It’s Eliot Vassamillet to Tel Aviv!

Belgium – It has been announced by broadcaster RTBF that Belgium will be represented in Tel Aviv by Eliot Vassamillet, performing the sing ‘Wake up‘, written by Pierre Dumoulin. Dumoulin previously wrote ‘City lights‘ for Blanche (Belgium 2107).

Romania: Mihai Withdraws Amidst Accusations of Favouritism

Romania – M I H A I (also known as Mihai Traistariu) has withdrawn from this year’s Romanian selection process. He represented the country in 2006 and has hoped to do so again a few times. He has withdrawn stating the selectors are not objective and have favourites.
