The hosts were Alesha Dixon, Hannah Waddingham, Julia Sanina and Graham Norton; the show took place at the M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool (United-Kingdom). The voting saw a twist in the final with a new vote made of 100% televote from “the Rest of the World”; the rest was similar to last year’s format: only juries results were announced first, with only the 12pts revealed by the spokeperson. Then they revealed how many each song got in televote, starting at whoever is ranked 26th by juries all the way to the juries’ winner!

So after a long sequence of 45mns for the votes, results came in. Juries had Sweden very comforably first, almost double the points above Israel which was second by 1pt only above Italy! Finland and Estonia close their Top 5. Televote came in and disagreed quite a lot: they had Croatia in their Top 10 but it did not help them to reach the Top 10. It did help Ukraine to reach the Top 10 and Norway to reach the Top 5 after being ignored with the juries. In the end, Finland was revealed as a massive televote winner (376pts, the higher ever for a non-Eurovision winner) but it wasnt enough to beat Sweden, also Top 3 in televote: congratulations Sweden!
But wait, there’s more! Marcel Bezençon Awards were also distributed tonight, which give out three more honorary titles.
- The Press Award is self explanatory really, and was awarded to: 🇸🇪 Sweden!
- The Artistic Award is given by former winners to their favorite entry, which was: 🇸🇪 Sweden!
- The Composer Award is given by all composers of the entries competing that year to their favorite composition and they gave it to: 🇮🇹 Italy!
Congratulations to everyone! Congratulations to all delegations who made Eurovision 2023 possible! Ready for Fridas?
Israel, Austria, Cyprus and Finland registered the biggest increases in viewership of the grand final compared to last year. Greece, the Netherlands, Denmark and Spain registered the biggest drops. Total numbers have dropped by 6% compared to Turin:

Less people watching = ebu wanting to change things. 3 of them dnq s no surprises but Spain is a surprise, maybe Paloma was a bubble thing and not even that big after Benidorm
Yes, it seems the spanish public was not as excited about her as the eurofans.
Last year had the fallout from the Måneskin phenomenon and also turned into a show of support for Ukraine. It also featured a few genuine crowd pleasers (Spain, Serbia, Moldova) while this year only had Finland.
Sweden brought a big returnee that could only excite the eurofans, not the general public. Italy was its reliable self and nothing more. Ukraine made sure it wouldn’t win again. Israel was just an echo of what Spain did last year. Norway served nordic kitsch that has been done many times before. France and Spain tried to go “back to their roots” without producing sparks. Serbia and Moldova were just a shadow of what they did last year. A rather flat year overall depsite the broadcaster’s undeniable competence.
and that sums why most eurofans werent excited to begin with

They most certainly got the last place right.
Now starting my Erika Vikman for UMK 2024 campaign
I’ll join you!
I think she would be the perfect follow-up to Käärijä, and it sounds like she’s in between music right now so UMK 2024 is the perfect time to debut the lead single to her second album I’d say…
Would be perfect and must be in the cards!
Becoming obsessed with Käärijä’s other music
This is the first song I heard from him, and I loved it summer -19

Ten years:
Say, when is the ET polling going to take place?
So I can do the annual ritual of giving my girls a scoreboard helping hand. AKA receiving the only points they are going to receive. Haha
Lol a political news/statistics site in the US just published this video
This expert doesn’t even know how the voting works … 9 points? LOL “The juries can only vote for 12 countries” … 🤔
I didn’t even watch it I didn’t know it’d be that bad LOL
I only watched the first few minutes on ESC and skipped everything that came before.
