Georgia – GPB, the broadcaster in charge of the participation of the country in the upcoming contest, has released “Firefighter”, the song that the internally selected Nutsa Buzaladze will sing to represent them in Malmö!
Nutsa Buzaladze was born in Tbilisi, but is mostly known to have toured the singing reality TV shows around the globe, winning some. She was based in Los Angeles for a while, and now Dubai, to gain online momentum. Her most famous participation to this date is a Top 12 in American Idol in 2023, where she even got to perform a duet with Kylie Minogue!
In 2019 she released her first album, Nutsa22, which featured a mix of covers of Georgian songs and new compositions in English. Her first hit from it was “Gelodebi” which lead her to tour the country with a live band.
What do you think of this entry? What are its chances in Malmö?
The speculated entry of Ladaniva. Though I like it, I guess it is least good song in their repertoire. As always known local stars chose wrong song for Esc. It was released in July (weird) but it fully corresponds to the description of the HoD of Armenia. Can’t see this doing well ….
it has some interesting elements but sounds like yet another hectic song.
if this was released in July, I can’t see how it can participate even with a revamp. Personally, I would definitely rank it top half in this edition
I also think it would be illegal
The rules are clear. This song won’t be Armenia 24.
It is very Kusturica but happier than Estonia’s Kusturica. Supposedly they changed it a lot to be eligible, so maybe it will turn out to be another “Shum”.
I knew it. One more shouty and pointless song + another hectic and fiery (I’m sure) stage presentation. Waiting for a live rendition and good luck!
P.S. – What are Armenia and Azerbaijan waiting for?
Mirimirimirical
I am catching up on the (not so latest news); I am glad Hera is going to Malmö – she can sing live, does it effortlessly and that will be a breath of fresh air (the song itself not so much, but she makes it soar live).
It is this year’s “song my aunt sings with her gospel choir at church”.
Aunt Hera can sing live and oozes class on stage. I am perfectlu fine with that. :)
*perfectly
Well, yes she can, it is just super middle aged.
For the record, I am middle aged, so no ageism here. This is just .. old.
Old well sung is better than new and pointlessly hectic or polished to death.
My no3 this year! For now!
My no1 and no2, 🇦🇲 and 🇬🇷 we don’t know live…
Hera has 2 supporters here. :)
RTP have just released the detailed voting numbers:
5538e22e236e98d7abceea8797ec6fba1.pdf (rtp.pt)
Iolanda was second in both sets of the televote, but veeery close to the winner. João Borsch did not win the televote in his semi. Performing last helped him a lot in the final.
How on earth did Perpetua (my very last of the final) win the televote in its semi? And what happened to all these votes in the final?
They were not mu last; I quite liked them actually. That being said, thay hail from Ílhavo and Gafanha da Nazaré (near Aveiro), they are teachers, they brought local pastries that are very famous all around the country (ovos moles – soft eggs). In the final the votes were more pragmatic. What these numbers show is that RTP should (must) adopt the system used by ESC nowadays.
P.S. – Madeira must have voted in huge numbers for Borsch after having realised he was one of the favourites.
They gave pastries to televoters? :-o
No, LOL. They connected with people by being very straightforward and unpretentious.
They went from second in the semi to joint last with a much better draw in the final. Wow.
Things are different in the final.
Iolanda won fair and square. And if the FdC voting system was more proportionate the margin of her victory wold e bigger.
I could not agree more.
I am still shocked that Huca did so miserably. I have his song in my playlist.
I loved the song in audio as well, but the live was not for me at all…
Huca had top notch vocals, but he overdid things in the stage presentation and in the structure of the song. Personally, I loved the colours.
Leo did really well I see.
He did. I did not tell you this before, but he was a target of racial abuse online after his performance in the semi and everyone knew that. We will never know if that made some people vote for him.
Filipa dead last in her semi with the lowest amount of points for any entry. Given her performance it doesn’t surprise me at all.
I agree.
Armenian song will be revealed tomorrow.
I CAN WAIT
A few more hours. I hope you can control your excitement:
Τhis is how you do happy ethno without gimmicks and copy pasting global trends (this jibe is for Satti). A very genuine and likeable song, which I will accommodate in my top10.
however it was released 8 months ago, has 180 thousands of views and is inelligible, I dont know what were they thinking
It is up to EBU to take a decision and it looks like they are fine with it otherwise it wouldn’t have been published on their channell.
How is it fine though as it’s a clear breach of the September rule?
Email EBU.
I will not. But others will do

wow, bad move for Aze to present last
well done 🇦🇲
we needed this! 🥰
So Armenia’s out, it has some cool ethnic parts but is another song that’s very hectic and another singer with a processed voice. So all in all reminds me a bit of Greece; the to my ears unusual sounds make Armenia more appealing to me.
Armenia : It sounds like a bollywood product mostly. I would appreciate more lyrical content than “la la la”s and variants of that but the orchestration is varied and has many good moments with the brass instruments adding some depth and musicality. But it feels more of an instrumental rather than a song tbh. It’s ok but nothing too exciting or something that I think will do very well in esc.
Good luck !
For a long time I’ve been waiting for an “honest” entry from an Armenian artist and for a song that will contend to a victory. Well I’ve received partly what I expected.
Honest
This is the music Armenians will jump and dance during the parties. This is another song with in Armenian – Armenian is the official language in Armenia. The artist represents an ordinary song from her repertoire without trying to put the accent on her being “diva”, without trying to prove that she can sing high notes. The motto of the band here is – “This is what we are”. For my Armenian ear this is the most chearful shake-shake song of this edition.
Wining chances
I’m sure jurors will kill it. 0 Chances once again. The song is 2:34 so I guess during live performance they will definitely add some instrumental and interaction with public and will add some extra televoting points…. Top 15 is possible if everything is done wise!
I am a bit disappointed because Ladaniva have songs I like more. It’s also a bit on the repetitive side. Probably still enough for my TOP 10 though. Good luck!
Will Austria and Cyprus open their SFs. I hope the producers remember that Austria did so last year and Cyprus in 2019 and 2021.
And France got the same draw two years in a row. Some countries arent EBU pets plus genre they tend to pick is similar and producers think there’s only ONE formula that works
I’m SO in love:
Pity he is american and can’t come to esc :p
Odds did not react well to the armenian reveal thus far.
Well done , Hayastan!

Greece on a steady climb in betting odds and all green constantly. This is HUGE success considering last year’s flop
on Armenia :
I don’t know how this can participate, even though I LOVE it! It’s exactly the same song they released 8 months ago and had already 11.000 views?
So EBU is tarnishing the rules for Armenia ? Damn that must ruin your anti-swedish and anti-australian theories abotu EBU favouritism…
Sk it’s suddenly not a problem to pick a song that has been released last July? It seems they could have used the time to come up with some lyrics.
