Georgia: Song Released

Georgia – GPB, the broadcaster in charge of the participation of the country in the upcoming contest, has released “Firefighter”, the song that the internally selected Nutsa Buzaladze will sing to represent them in Malmö!

Nutsa Buzaladze was born in Tbilisi, but is mostly known to have toured the singing reality TV shows around the globe, winning some. She was based in Los Angeles for a while, and now Dubai, to gain online momentum. Her most famous participation to this date is a Top 12 in American Idol in 2023, where she even got to perform a duet with Kylie Minogue!

In 2019 she released her first album, Nutsa22, which featured a mix of covers of Georgian songs and new compositions in English. Her first hit from it was “Gelodebi” which lead her to tour the country with a live band.

What do you think of this entry? What are its chances in Malmö?

  1. The speculated entry of Ladaniva. Though I like it, I guess it is least good song in their repertoire. As always known local stars chose wrong song for Esc. It was released in July (weird) but it fully corresponds to the description of the HoD of Armenia. Can’t see this doing well ….

  2. I knew it. One more shouty and pointless song + another hectic and fiery (I’m sure) stage presentation. Waiting for a live rendition and good luck!

P.S. – What are Armenia and Azerbaijan waiting for?

  3. I am catching up on the (not so latest news); I am glad Hera is going to Malmö – she can sing live, does it effortlessly and that will be a breath of fresh air (the song itself not so much, but she makes it soar live).

  4. So Armenia’s out, it has some cool ethnic parts but is another song that’s very hectic and another singer with a processed voice. So all in all reminds me a bit of Greece; the to my ears unusual sounds make Armenia more appealing to me.

  5. Armenia : It sounds like a bollywood product mostly. I would appreciate more lyrical content than “la la la”s and variants of that but the orchestration is varied and has many good moments with the brass instruments adding some depth and musicality. But it feels more of an instrumental rather than a song tbh. It’s ok but nothing too exciting or something that I think will do very well in esc.

    Good luck !

  6. For a long time I’ve been waiting for an “honest” entry from an Armenian artist and for a song that will contend to a victory. Well I’ve received partly what I expected.

    Honest

This is the music Armenians will jump and dance during the parties. This is another song with in Armenian – Armenian is the official language in Armenia. The artist represents an ordinary song from her repertoire without trying to put the accent on her being “diva”, without trying to prove that she can sing high notes. The motto of the band here is – “This is what we are”. For my Armenian ear this is the most chearful shake-shake song of this edition.

    Wining chances

I’m sure jurors will kill it. 0 Chances once again. The song is 2:34 so I guess during live performance they will definitely add some instrumental and interaction with public and will add some extra televoting points…. Top 15 is possible if everything is done wise!

    • I am a bit disappointed because Ladaniva have songs I like more. It’s also a bit on the repetitive side. Probably still enough for my TOP 10 though. Good luck!

  7. Well done , Hayastan!

  8. on Armenia :

I don’t know how this can participate, even though I LOVE it! It’s exactly the same song they released 8 months ago and had already 11.000 views?

    • So EBU is tarnishing the rules for Armenia ? Damn that must ruin your anti-swedish and anti-australian theories abotu EBU favouritism…

  9. Sk it’s suddenly not a problem to pick a song that has been released last July? It seems they could have used the time to come up with some lyrics.
