Ireland – RTÉ, the national broadcaster in charge of the country’s participation in Eurovision 2020, has revealed that hey have internally chosen Lesley Roy to represent them in Rotterdam with the song “Story Of My Life”!

I tuned in a bit too late to the link, but found it on YouTube where I could scoll back the stream to hear the song from the beginning only to be kicked out in the middle of the song because all of a sudden the video was marked “private”, LOL
I listened to it towards the end and it didn’t sound well. Let’s whether my view changes if I listen to it as a whole.

Largely yes, but towards the end they are at least adding some melody but overall it isn’t interesting to listen to.

I love so many Cypriot songs from the 90s (92, 94-97) and also ‘Life Looks Better in Spring’ and ‘One Thing I Should Have Done’.

It isn’t very interesting, to put it mildly … but at least I like it more than Tamta’s song, which got Cyprus the last place on my list for the first time ever.

Cyprus 20 really is unremarkable in every single way possible. It doesn’t offend on any front, but there’s nothing to make it stand out, either. MOR stuff that will probably get lost. The main melody could be stronger, as well.

So far I love Lithuania and Iceland and I like Switzerland, Italy, Ukraine, Belgium and Romania.

Don’t think the level of modernity is issue here.
I think success will totally depend on choreo and his voice vs the autotuned video version. It stands out among all the whiny and mid-tempo stuff. We’ll see if they dom an Eleni- or Tanta-staging.
