Eurovision 2020: ‘Europe Shine a Light’ Confirmed

Eurovision 2020 – Following the cancellation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, the EBU and its Dutch Members NPO, NOS and AVROTROS confirmed they will produce Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light to air in place of the Grand Final on Saturday 16 May at 21:00 (CET).

Rotterdam 2020 – The EBU has officially announced the cancellation all together of Eurovision 2020, a first in 65 years. They have also revealed why they decided not to postpone it or use the “plan B” of having each artist perform at home in a studio.

Bulgaria: Victoria to Host Online Concert

Eurovision 2020 – As the Coronavirus spreads around the world and is labelled a pandemic, and Europe becomes the epicentre, the Spanish and Israeli pre-parties have become the latest victims. Both have been cancelled for 2020. Riga had already announced it would not hold a party this year.

Russia: Little Big Reveal Entry Tonight!

Russia – The Russian entry will be revealed tonight at 21.30 (CET). Selected internally, the punk-rave pop group Little Big, will represent Russia in Rotterdam. The reveal will take place during the talk show “Evening Urgant”. 

Revamps Released

Rotterdam 2020 – Already three countries have released their final revamps, Albania, Czech Republic and Romania, while Russia is still keeping their song hidden and has officially stated that they’ll reveal it Thursday.

Azerbaijan: Song Released

Azerbaijan – Ictimai, the national broadcaster, has revealed the song that they’ve picked for internally selected Samira Efendi: “Cleopatra” will represent them in Rotterdam!

Malta: Song Revealed

Malta – TVM, the national broadcaster, hosted the final of X Factor Malta, a talent show whose winner is then selected internally to represent the country in Eurovision. Without any surprise whatsoever, Destiny Chukunyere, won it! Now they revealed the song as well, called “All Of My Love“.

San Marino: It’s Freaky to Rotterdam!

San Marino – RTV, the national broadcaster, has revealed that “Freaky!” won its online selection. They’ve internally picked Senhit, formerly known as Senit, to represent them in Rotterdam!

Portugal: It’s Elisa to Rotterdam!

Portugal – RTP, the national broadcaster, concluded its search for the next Portuguese entry with the grand final of Festival da Canção 2020, which was hosted tonight. It was won by Elisa with “Medo de sentir“!

Sweden: It’s The Mamas to Rotterdam!

Sweden – It’s the most anticipated National Final within the Eurovision Fandom and it concluded tonight with the grand final. It was won by The Mamas, last year’s backing singers, with “Move“!
