Best Backings 2013: and the Frida goes to…


FridaEurovision Times Awards 2013 – Every year, the summer is a long season for the Eurovision community but this year we got to vote and give awards! After a week in this category, it’s time to announce the winner and hand out the Frida. However, the full results will only be announced once all polls are closed. So who will win?

THE NETHERLANDS

“Birds” was performed by Anouk Teeuwe. Representing the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, it was written by Anouk Teeuwe and composed by Anouk Teeuwe and Martin Gjerstad. It finished 9th with 114 points. Nominated 6 times overall in ET Awards 2013, “Best Backings” is already its third! Congratulations!

There were 37 recommendations for 14 countries in the first round and 154 votes were cashed in an open poll, in exactly one week, among the 5 nominees. The complete detailed results will be announced once all polls are closed this weekend!

  1. I know that I am getting on everyone’s nerves but I really think that Israel should have got this Frida.
    Congratulations to the Dutch backing singers nevertheless. They were fantastic too. :)

  2. very deserved!
    When people hear the song for the first time, in the Live singing video from Anouk, many people where asking themselfs how they will solve the singing choire part in the song, because it is a nice piece in the song and well… a choire on tape is not alowed on eurovision.
    These three backing did a really great jop by replacing the choice on tape, on a very subtile way!
    Birds could easily fall when the backing would do wrong on stage, they where needed to complete Birds and they where awsome live, all the time and all the rehearsals to!

  3. I voted for Hungary, as I found the contrast between the lead and backing vocals interesting, but I can see why they didn’t win.
