Switzerland: Mélanie René to Vienna!

SSwitzerlandwitzerland – Tonight the grand final of Die Große Entscheidungsshow 2015 took place at the Bodensee Arena in Kreuzlingen where Switzerland selected its representative for Vienna: Mélanie René won with Time to Shine!

There were six entries tonight. Three came from the German speaking broadcaster, two from the French speaking one and one from the Italian speaking one. This time, a French-broadcaster entry won. This was tonight’s line-up:

  1. Deborah Bough – Take Me Back To 23
  2. Timebelle – Singing About Love
  3. Licia Chery – Fly
  4. Andy McSean – Hey Now
  5. Mélanie René – Time To Shine
  6. Tiziana – Only Human

After which, all 6 acts performed a cover version, Mélanie performed Sia’s Chandelier. The winner was chosen using a 50/50 jury/televote method. After Conchita Wurst performed her winning song and we got a little chat with Sebalter, it was announced that Mélanie won. Since then, an article published on SRF’s website tells this final result: 1st Mélanie, 2nd Timebelle, 3rd Licia, 4th Andy, 5th Tiziana, 6th Deborah.

Check out the Swiss entry (not the live from tonight, but from audition):

So what do you think of this entry? What are its chances in Vienna?

  1. As for Switzerland, their best entry of all time is of course the gorgeous “T’en vas pas” from 1963; followed then by 1981, 1962 and 1986. The last mentioned did also have some kind of a sequel in 1991, which I have grown to like a lot. The horns are right up my alley. :)

  2. Oh, I hate these advertisements on YouTube. Just got inspired and put Einstürzende Neubauten’s Tabula Rasa fron 1993 on, and a cheesy jeans commercial before the songs is really not appropriate :-(

  3. They chose the best entry on offer (like last year) and it’s the first time my favourite song wins a NF this year! Still, I think it lacks in the “Warrior” genre when compared to Malta in semi 2…For the moment 6/10!

  4. Right now, a preliminary personal ranking of the 8 songs would look like this :
    1.Albania
    2.Malta
    3.FYROM
    4.Netherlands
    5.Switzerland
    6.France
    7.Belarus
    8.Georgia
This is a bad year imo

  5. Switzerland was a fun little show.
Good luck to Mélanie. Although that fun and carefree “Singing About Love” should have won. Luckily Melanie isn’t in the same semi as Albania. Malta as well.

Elhadiva does the ballad better than both Melanie and Amber. Albania’s choice was a great one on the day but its looking better and better as we go along.

    Off to Iceland now.

  6. I loved performance (vocal included), it lifted this song for me so much, she had great outfit and make up too, I dislike a bit female backing vocals, she need betters for ESC..composition is complicated and great! :)

I LOVE “Ostarilla” in Finnish NF! I’m glad they are the first in jury points, but SOLU!!! OMG!! :( :( :(
