There were six entries tonight. Three came from the German speaking broadcaster, two from the French speaking one and one from the Italian speaking one. This time, a French-broadcaster entry won. This was tonight’s line-up:
- Deborah Bough – Take Me Back To 23
- Timebelle – Singing About Love
- Licia Chery – Fly
- Andy McSean – Hey Now
- Mélanie René – Time To Shine
- Tiziana – Only Human
After which, all 6 acts performed a cover version, Mélanie performed Sia’s Chandelier. The winner was chosen using a 50/50 jury/televote method. After Conchita Wurst performed her winning song and we got a little chat with Sebalter, it was announced that Mélanie won. Since then, an article published on SRF’s website tells this final result: 1st Mélanie, 2nd Timebelle, 3rd Licia, 4th Andy, 5th Tiziana, 6th Deborah.
Check out the Swiss entry (not the live from tonight, but from audition):
So what do you think of this entry? What are its chances in Vienna?
As for Switzerland, their best entry of all time is of course the gorgeous “T’en vas pas” from 1963; followed then by 1981, 1962 and 1986. The last mentioned did also have some kind of a sequel in 1991, which I have grown to like a lot. The horns are right up my alley. :)
ESC 2015 needs a lot of help. If Russia would stop being cynical with their hollow peace ballads and gave us something like this, at least we’d have an entry to talk about.
BREAKING NEWS (lol):
The Czech Republic has announced its entry. It’s going to be a duet of Marta Jandová and Václav Noid Bárta singing “Hope Dies Last,” written by Ondrej Soukup.

The title scares me, lol. But still hoping for something really good. Please…!
The actual title is worse, but I think I was subconsciously expressing my feelings for the entry lol.
And a link in English, lol. I got so many details wrong but I was using Google Translate and had my mind in too many different places. xD

lol!We both started with the exaggerated breking news.
Woohoo! xD
“Hope Dies Last”
*shudders*
It’s actually “Hope Never Dies,” lol, which is equally bad. But the artists sound good!
Hmm.Eurovision.tv claims it’s “Hope never dies” and it’s written by Václav Noid Bárta. :-?
Yeah, I was reading a bad translation from Czech and not necessarily paying a lot of attention. I just saw Soukup’s name and just assumed “He wrote it like they planned, great!” :P He produced it.
Breaking News: Czech Republic: Marta Jandová & Václav Noid Bárta for Vienna!

“Hope Never Dies” (rather underwhelming title) is written by Václav Noid Bárta.
People around the net are thrilled with Marta!
Oh, I hate these advertisements on YouTube. Just got inspired and put Einstürzende Neubauten’s Tabula Rasa fron 1993 on, and a cheesy jeans commercial before the songs is really not appropriate :-(
They seriously have to revamp the Swiss winning song, surely?
They chose the best entry on offer (like last year) and it’s the first time my favourite song wins a NF this year! Still, I think it lacks in the “Warrior” genre when compared to Malta in semi 2…For the moment 6/10!
Right now, a preliminary personal ranking of the 8 songs would look like this :
1.Albania
2.Malta
3.FYROM
4.Netherlands
5.Switzerland
6.France
7.Belarus
8.Georgia
This is a bad year imo
Albania?Really? This is dead last on my list.
I always fall for shouty ladies singing in Albanian :P (see Albania 2011)
Netherlands are losing ground, FYROM is growing and I still find Georgia too bad to be saved by a revamp by GSon
I wasn’t the biggest fan of “Suus” but don’t you dare compare this year’s dated contraption with Rona’s song. :P
2011! NOT 2012
Suus is untouchable!
Oh,i see.I would never compare those 2 either because they don’t share much things in common.Anyway,to each his own.
The song lacks something but I can not put a finger on it…weird!😁
Good luck Switzerland
Great song! My second favorite so far after FYR Macedonia
Switzerland was a fun little show.
Good luck to Mélanie. Although that fun and carefree “Singing About Love” should have won. Luckily Melanie isn’t in the same semi as Albania. Malta as well.
Elhadiva does the ballad better than both Melanie and Amber. Albania’s choice was a great one on the day but its looking better and better as we go along.
Off to Iceland now.
I loved performance (vocal included), it lifted this song for me so much, she had great outfit and make up too, I dislike a bit female backing vocals, she need betters for ESC..composition is complicated and great! :)
I LOVE “Ostarilla” in Finnish NF! I’m glad they are the first in jury points, but SOLU!!! OMG!! :( :( :(
