Portugal: Festival Da Canção Chooses Filipa Sousa for Eurovision

Portugal – The Festival Da Canção reached its conclusion tonight with Filipa Sousa being chosen to go to Azerbaijan. The song is called “Vida Minha“ (My Life). Portugal will take part in semi-final 2 on the 22nd of May. The lengthy voting system saw all 20 Portugese regions voting. Filipa won well with Cumplice’s song in second place from the regional juries. This was then turned into only 12 and 10 points each though. Televoting also saw Filipa Sousa as the winner, with one of the jury’s bottom two, Carlos Costa, becoming the runner-up on the public vote.

Filipa Sousa therefore won Festival da Canção with 24 points.

Fado had been added to the World Heritage list of the UNESCO, so the songs in this year’s Festival were in that music genre.

Here is the winning song which will go to Baku:

      • Although being a “femme de mènage” is a very honourable job (cleaning up other people’s mess), I must say that there are Portuguese in France and elsewhere in the world with important, well-paid, scientific, artistic jobs and high positions in every sector of society, which of course, considering your sad comment, you will never reach (not even in your dreams).

Hi, my name is Marko, I’m from Serbia.
I will change my nick soon, because MF is over and Lisa Miskovsky lost as you probably know! :D
My English is not very good, but I do know basic grammar. At least… :D
    You are from the UK?

  2. to lisa ,you make a mistake , last year french people voted for spain ,we gave it 12 points
in effect we gave 10 points to sweden but it was the jury (due to some members making an abba show in france).
concerning the portuguese song, the singer sings very well but i don’t like the song.
