Montenegro might have changed its mind

Montenegro – Apparently there is still a possibility that Montenegro will return to the Eurovision Song Contest next year. RTCG applied for participation, which will secure them a spot in the contest in Düsseldorf. They reserve their right to withdraw the application before December 25 tough. RTCG is facing severe budget cuts, which is also the reason why they couldn’t send an entry to Oslo. An artist who whats to enter the competition flying the Montenegrin flag would have to find sponsors to fund their participation. All we need now is a Montenegrin singer with a few rich friends and the participation toll in Düüsseldorf might be close to Helsinki, Moscow and Belgrade.

A countrie’s application to participate can still be withdrawn without any punishment. If a country decides to pull out after this date, they will have to pay a fine to the EBU. A final decision of RTCG is expected on December 21 so cross your fingers!
