UK – The BBC has confirmed that its national selection programme, Eurovision: You Decide, has been dumped for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest and an exciting new partnership with the record company BMG will help select the UK’s representative instead.
UK – The UK has chosen Michael Rice to represent them in Israel, with the song ‘Bigger than us‘, written by Laurell Barker, Anna-Klara Folin, John Lundvik and Jonas Thander.

United Kingdom – The BBC today revealed that it will again hold a national selection as it did last year. Eurovision: You Decide will take place on 27th January 2017 at the Hammersmith Apollo and will be broadcast on BBC2 at 19.30 (GMT).

Eurovision 2016 – Yesterday saw several of this year’s acts perform at the Eurovillage in advance of semi-final 1. Dami Im drew lots of support from enthusiastic Australian fans and wowed with her fantastic live vocals and piano playing.

United Kingdom – The UK’s commentator, Graham Norton, has said that he will be raising a glass to former commentator, Terry Wogan, in song 9 of this year’s contest. Wogan, who sadly passed away this year, always warned Norton not to start drinking until song 9.

Eurovision 2016 – Swedish producer Christer Björkman has caused a bit of a storm in the UK after accusing the late Terry Wogan of turning the Eurovision Song Contest into a joke. Björkman was asked why the UK doesn’t appear to take the event seriously.
