Russia – The Russian entry will be revealed tonight at 21.30 (CET). Selected internally, the punk-rave pop group Little Big, will represent Russia in Rotterdam. The reveal will take place during the talk show “Evening Urgant”.

Russia – Breaking news tonight that Russia’s representative Sergey Lazarev has fainted at a concert in St Petersburg. You can watch the moment that crew go to help and the show stops here. Esckaz.com reports that the concert has been postponed until June but he is OK, and has not been hospitalised.
Russia – Tonight is the big reveal of Sergey Lazarev‘s song for The Eurovision Song Contest 2016. It will be premiered during the evening news programme Вести в Субботу, starting at 18:00 (CET) on the Russia-1 channel where the official video will be aired.
Russia – Russian broadcaster Russia1 has moved the date that it intends to reveal the song to be sung by Sergey Lazarev in Stockholm. It will now be presented two days later than originally planned, on 5th March 2016.

Russia – It has been confirmed today that Polina Gagarina will song ‘A million voices‘ in Vienna. You can hear some of the song in the promo video here.
Russia – News is breaking this evening that Russia’s internal selection has chosen established singer Polina Gagarina as their representative in Vienna for 2015. Polina spent the first few years of her life in Greece so will hope for some points from there.
Russia – With no news at all coming from Russia as yet this year, one name has emerged this week as a rumour, and has circulated on social media. These rumours suggest that Nargiz Zakirova has been internally selected.
Former Participants – Whilst there may be a minority of politicians in Russia still apoplectic over Eurovision and Conchita’s win, others are showing her their love with flowers. Superstar Elton John had flowers delivered to Conchita from him and his husband David.
Ukraine – Today, Jon Ola Sand, has confirmed that votes cast in the disputed region of Crimea, Ukraine, will be registered as Ukrainian votes. This means the people there are able to vote for Russia, but not for Ukraine. This is not a political decision but revolves around telecoms operators in the area.
Russian Eurovision Party – Yesterday saw Russia host a pre-Eurovision party. Present at the event were Cristina Scarlat (Moldova), Teo (Belarus), Dilara Kazimova (Azerbaijan), Firelight (Malta), Mei Finegold (Israel), Valentina Monetta (San Marino) and the Tolmachevy Sisters (Russia).
Eurovision 2014 – Sweden’s news site Aftonbladet has raised the issue with the EBU of how votes in Crimea will be counted this year, which could be a whole can of political worms. The EBU’s stance is always no politics in Eurovision, so how will they overcome this thorny issue?

Dr Eurovision – Eurovision fans will no doubt know of ‘Dr Eurovision’, Paul Jordan. Paul completed a PhD on Eurovision and is an academic expert on the Eurovision Song Contest. He is again running the London marathon to raise money for charity this year.
Russia – It’s time to get to know another of this year’s participants, The Tolmachevy Sisters (also known as The Tolmachevy Twins) from Russia. The Tolmachevy Sisters will perform ‘Shine‘ in Copenhagen in May after being selected internally by broadcaster Rossija 1.

Russia – Russian news agencies are reporting that the Tolmachevy Twins, will sing ‘Shine‘. Last minute recordings of the strings were still taking place last night before today’s deadline. It is written by Philipp Kirkorov, Dimitris Kontopoulos, John Ballard, Ralph Charlie, and Gerard James Borg.
Russia – Russia will announce their participant tomorrow during an evening news show Vesti which starts at 17:00 (CET). It is rumoured former Junior Eurovision stars the Tolmachevy Twins will be the internally selected act.
Russia – The national Russian broadcaster, Rossiya 1, has postponed their newly-styled national final ‘KTO?’ until sometime during March 2014. This is due to a large interest in the competition. The closing deadline has been extended until 28 February 2014.
