Sweden: Melodifestivalen Running Orders for Semi-finals Released

Sweden – Swedish broadcaster SVT has revealed the running order of the four semi-finals in Melodifestivalen 2018. The first one is to be held in Karstad on 3rd February 2018, followed each week by further semi-fina in Gothenburg, Malmö and Örnsköldsvik.

David Lindgren Confirmed as Melodifestivalen Host

Sweden – National broadcaster, SVT, has confirmed that previous entrant, David Lindgren, will again host Melodifestivalen, but this time as a solo host.  SVT received 2771 entries for this year’s contest and must now pick the contestants for the live shows. 

Sweden: It’s Robin Bengtsson to Kyiv!

Sweden – Robin Bengtsson will represent Sweden in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with ‘I Can’t Go On‘ after winning tonight’s Melodifesivalen final in Stockholm’s Friends Arena. He beat off a challenge from Nano taking 1st place with the juries by 20 points and then finishing 3rd place with the public: 

Sweden: Melodifestivalen Line-Up Finalised

Sweden – The 2nd chance Andra Chansen heat took place tonight with 4 acts going through to the Melodifestivalen final next week. We now know all of the finalists and national broadcaster SVT has also released the running order. 

Sweden: Loreen Fails to go Directly to Melodifestivalen Final

Sweden – Mirroring earlier surprise polls, previous Eurovision winner Loreen only made it through to the Andra Chansen second chance contest tonight in Sweden as Wictoria and Jon Henrik Fjällgren feat. Aninia went direct to the Melodifestivalen final. 

Sweden: Two More Acts Qualify for Melodifestivalen

Sweden – The third heat of Melodifestivalen took place last night in Växjö and the two acts successfully going directly to the final were Robin Bengtsson and Owe Thörnqvist. The third and fourth placed acts, Anton Hagman and FO&O, get a second chance in the Andra Chansen final.
