Eurovision 2019 – It appears that Iceland entry, Hatari, have already paid a small price for their display of Palestinian scarves during this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

Iceland – National broadcaster, RÚV ,has announced that Eleni Foureira (Cyprus 2018) will be guest performer at Söngvakeppnin final on 2nd March 2019. The news came hot on the heels of the revelation of the ten artists that will compete to represent Iceland in Tel Aviv.
Iceland – The Icelandic national broadcaster, RUV, has announced details about this year’s national selection, Söngvakeppnin 2019, and opened the submission period. It will be accepting song submissions until 22nd October 2018 via songvakeppnin.is.

Iceland – The national selection programme Söngvakeppnin kicked off tonight in Iceland with semi-final 1. Six acts competed for three places in the grand final to be held in two week’s time. The three acts qualifying were Ari Ólafsson, Fókus hópurinn and Heimilistónar.

Iceland – The final of Sóngvakeppnin 2017 has just finished with a win for Svala Björgvinsdóttir singing ‘Paper’. She will now represent Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv in May. Listen to the winning song now…
Iceland – Tonight saw the second semi-final of Söngvakeppnin 2017 take place. Six semi-finalists sang their songs in Icelandic and faced a 100% public vote. The three successful artists will now perform in the final next week.
Iceland – Three acts have qualified to the Söngvakeppnin final in Iceland on 11th March from tonight’s semi-final. The acts going through are Arnar Jónsson & Rakel Pálsdóttir with ‘Til Mín‘, Rúnar Eff Rúnarsson with ‘Mér við hlið‘ and Aron Hannes Emilsson singing ‘Nótt‘.
Former Participants – Greta Salóme (Iceland 2016) and Lidia Isac, (Moldova 2016) are both currently auctioning costumes from their 2016 Eurovision performances for good causes.
Iceland – RUV, the Icelandic broadcaster, has tonight revealed the 12 finalists for Söngvakeppnin 2016. They were chosen from 260 entries. There will now be two semi-finals on the 6th and 13th February 2016, and a grand final which will be held on 20th February 2016.
Iceland – The Icelandic national broadcaster, RUV, this week revealed more details about this year’s Söngvakeppnin 2016. The deadline for submitting songs is 2nd November 2015 and you can find out more details here.
Iceland – Tonight saw the final of Söngvakeppnin 2015 in Iceland and the winner, who will now represent the volcanic country in Vienna is 21-year-old María Ólafsdóttir who will sing ‘Unbroken‘. She triumphed over Friðrik Dór in the super final.
Iceland -The second semi-final in Iceland took place last night, and four more acts won a ticket to the final which will be held on 14th February in the Háskólabíó Hall in Reykjavík.
Iceland – Tonight, the first three finalists were selected for the final of Söngvakeppnin 2015 which will be held on 24th February. A 100% televote decided which 3 songs of tonight’s 6 song semi-final would go through to the Söngvakeppnin 2015 final.
Iceland – The first semi-final in Iceland takes place this evening, the 2nd semi-final will be a week later on 7th February and the final on 14th February in the Háskólabíó Hall in Reykjavík. The First Semi-Final will start tonight at 20:45 (CET) on RUV.

Iceland – National broadcaster, RÚV, today released the names of the acts and songs that will take part in this year’s national contest, Söngvakeppnin. Two semifinals and the final will be held on 31st January, 7th February and 14th February.
Former Participants – Jóhanna Guðrún (Yohanna)and Eyþór Ingi Gunnlaugsson have teamed up to sing a duet ‘Hjartað lyfter mér hærra‘. The performance was posted by Yohanna on her Facebook page today. Check the video now…
Iceland – Iceland has confirmed the dates for this year’s national selection process, Söngvakeppni 2015. Icelandic broadcaster RÚV has announced that the grand final will take place on February 14th 2015 after 2 semi-finals involving 12 acts.
Eurovison 2014 – EuroClub hosted the Nordic party last night. Norway’s Carl Espen sang ‘Waterloo‘ with his cousin Josefin, and Sanna Nielsen of Sweden sang a medley. Pollapönk of Iceland and Softengine of Finland also performed, along with Basim of Denmark. Check out Esckaz’s videos here.
Iceland – The Pollapönk guys from Iceland originally impressed us with their very colourful tracksuits. Today they wowed us with their equally colourful suits and bow ties in their first full dress rehearsal. Their press conference then introduced yet another must-have fashion garment…
