Eurovision Song Contest 2018
Hungary – MTVA, the Hungarian national broadcaster, has revealed the names of the 30 acts that will compete in A Dal 2018, chosen from 350 entries. The contest starts on 20th January 2018, and there will be three heats, 2 semi-finals and a grand final of 15 acts which will conclude on 24th February 2018.
Latvia – LVT have announced the 21 artists that have been chosen by 4 jurors for the Supernova competition which will decide Latvia’s entry for Lisbon. 93 entries were originally received, 63 were published online. Austria – ORF has announced it has internally selected Cesár Sampson to represent Austria in Lisbon next May. It made the announcement on the Ö3-Wecker radio show. Sampson has taken part in the last two Eurovision Song Contests as part of the Bulgarian team in 2016 and 2017.
Albania – The annual national final that chooses Albania’s Eurovision representative, Festivali i Këngës, will this year see 22 acts compete for a place in Lisbon. There will be two semi finals on the 21st and 22nd of December and a grand final on the 23rd of December 2017. The songs are now online!
Eurovision 2018 – The host broadcaster for Lisbon, RTP, has today revealed the stage design that will be used for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The design follows the maritime theme as depicted in the artwork, logos and slogan.
Moldova – The national broadcaster of Moldova, TRM, today invited entries for its selection process for O Melodie Pentru Europa 2018. People have until 15th January 2018 to register. The national final will be held on 24th February 2018.
Belarus – BTRC, the Belarusian national broadcaster, has opened up its submission period for entries until 26th December 2017. If you want to try and represent Belarus at Eurovision in Lisbon, now is your chance. as they are allowing both Belarusian and non-Belarusian artists, lyricists and composers to enter.
