Portugal – RTP, the broadcaster in charge of the country’s participation in Eurovision 2019, concluded this year’s national final, Festival de Cançao 2019. 8 artists battled it out in the grand final and Conan Osíris won with “Telemoveis“!
The show moved from RTP studios in Lisbon to Portimão Arena in Portimão. After an all female cast in the first semi and an all male cast for the final, new hosts were in charge of the final, so Filomena Cautela and Vasco Palmeirim were in charge of hosting the event, with Inês Lopes Gonçalves in the green room.
There was a new voting system for the final. 50% of the votes came from regional juries (7 regions) and then 50% came from televote.
This was tonight’s line-up:
- Calema – A dois
- Mariana Bragada – Mar doce
- Matay – Perfeito
- Surma – Pugna
- NBC – Igual a ti
- Madrepaz – Mundo a mudar
- Conan Osíris – Telemoveis
- Ana Cláudia – Inercia
Almost an hour of interval acts, celebrating former artists who represented Portugal in the contest, including 1983, 1993 and 2008! Then, the juries took the spot. The juries voted and almost all gave 12pts to Conan (except Algarve who voted for NBC one place above Conan)! In the end, Conan won the juries, NBC runner-up and Surma 3rd. All these votes were turned into 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 and 3pts. To be added to the results of televote… Ana Claudia was 8th, Surma 7th, Mariana Bragada 6th, Madrepaz 5th, Calema 4th, NBC 3rd (at that moment we knew who would win), Matay 2nd and Conan first of televote too!
What do you think of this song? What are its chances in Tel Aviv?
