  1. Eesti Laul is one of the highlights of the season even though it has lost some of its shine lately. I recognise some of the names and am hoping for good songs and live performances. Good luck, Estonia!

P.S. – I am especially curious to see (hear) how The Swingers sound live. :)

  2. Eesti laul ruled supreme from 2009 to 2012. Does anyone else remember the ‘Japanese’ reporter covering EL 2011? <3
Alas, Estonia has made some terrible choices when it comes to picking the winner, and the general quality of EL has declined a bit over the past years. Nevertheless, it is still a highlight of the NF season. Just compare it to national finals in Malta, the UK, Spain, Switzerland or Romania f. e.

  3. EL was amazing through 2009-2013, I’d say the decline started over 2013-2014 and of course it all culminated in the terrible choices made in 2014 or 2017… However, even today, I think it’s my favorite NF to follow… Just look at some crazy names once more in the line up lol! And I’m glad they moved to two live shows for the semis and not the studio recordings we had lately, even though they were cozy and sweet!

I loved or liked Estonia in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 (but it was their weakest effort in years, and definitely not the best entry in the NF sorry Alex), 2015, 2016 and 2018… So even though I think they could have almost always chosen better (for instance the great “Kuula” should have lost to “Oblivion”), I still think it’s THE best country of the recent era…

Fun fact I’ve already pointed out here, they do well every three years 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2018 going 6th, 6th, 7th and 8th… So should we be worried for the next two years?

  4. The fact that there’s a song called “Where are the cats?” has got me unreasonably excited!

  5. Lina Hedlunt from Alcazar is also among the MF 2019 hopefuls:

  6. Kalomira (GRC 08) is rumored for Tel Aviv

  7. It may simply be a rumour that will fizzle out but I enjoy so much reading the apoplectic comments here :-P

  8. I’ve been waiting for Sandra Nurmsalu to return to Eesti Laul since I was in 8th grade. Really hoping that her entry isn’t disappointing!

  9. Off topic: I’ve been terribly busy lately and I am feeling very tired (I cannot stop! LOL). I always find the time to listen to Monika Linkytè though, this is her newest song, I think:

And I must go now; another hectic is around the corner. :)

  10. She decided to take matters in her own hands:

    • ROFL
I am trying to recover from listening to a Kate Hoey interview earlier in the day. She is probably the most clueless MP in all of Europe … I recommend to ask for medical advice before listening to her ideologically driven drivel.
Gosh, thesedays following Westminster politics is like watching bad comedy. :(

      • Imagine how we feel living here seeing it 24/7 at the moment. It’s dire. Did you see Brexiteer Nadine Dorries MP being outraged that we wouldn’t have MEPs after we Brexit? Please help us.

My favorite part of the withdrawal agreement is the bit that puts the date for ending the transition as [20XX]… meaning it could be 2098. Seriously.

        • Is there a thing like a sad farce?
I never miss anything Ms Dorries says. Listening to her is always a very special WTF experience.

        • I have just tuned in to today’s BBC Politics Live and look who ist here: Kate Loony. She will probably blame Ireland again …
I wonder why all those loggerheads still get a voice on BBC. They don’t contribute balance but delusions, lies and British exceptionalism.

        • And they start the show by talking to Ms Dorries and the Mogg. BBC isn’t a credible news source anymore …

      • I watched another Brexiteer earlier and i had a good laugh.

        • They are all either evil or silly clowns. People like Farage, Johnson, Mogg, Baker etc. need to be tried for treason and people like Hoey, Fox and Dorries need to be sent to the loony bin.

  11. According to Cypriot media, the country’s esc entry has already been recorded and it’s very strong like “Fuego”.

  12. French-Finnish Eva+Manu the rumored internally selected duo for Finland
