Malta: X Factor Judges Confirmed

Malta – TVM, the Maltese broadcaster, has confirmed that the four Maltese X Factor judges will be Ray Mercia, Alexandra Alden, Howard Keith and Ira Losco (Malta 2002, 2016). The winner of X Factor Malta will go on to be Malta’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Israel.

The winner will also receive a recording contract with Sony Music Italy.

Auditions have begun on the island, and it expected to see some familiar faces take part. Janice Mangion, the mother of Claudia & Fabrizio Faniello has auditioned, and former MESC entrant, Franklin Calleja, has confirmed he has got through to perform in front of the judges. Jade Vela, another MESC entrant previously, has also made it to the judges auditions. Junior Eurovision’s Nicole Azzopardi has also made it through.

X Factor Malta will be broadcast on TVM from October.

  1. I hope this will change Malta’s fortunes, although I kind of doubt it. Their recent entries have been pretty talent show-esque already, not sure if that will change it. The only Maltese entry I’ve liked in the last 10 years or so is 2013. 2016 was incredibly overrated by the juries (like every year lol). The last two years have genuinely been awful from them.
