Tonight: Super Super Saturday of 2018!

Just like last year, we will witness Super Saturdays with many shows happening all at once. Instead of opening all threads, hard to follow for everyone, we decided to have just one thread for all shows to follow live so we can all discuss them together. Tonight: no less than 5 finals!

Hungary –  A Dal concludes this evening and we’ll know which act will represent Hungary in Lisbon. Eight acts are taking part tonight but only 4 can progress through to the superfinal. Then televote will ultimately chose the winner.

The hosts of tonight’s show will be Kriszta Rátonyi and Eurovision 2016’s Freddie. So the line-up for tonight’s second heat are:

  1. Zsolt ZüleZöld a május
  2. Gergely DánielfyAzt mondtad
  3. Gábor Heincz (BIGA)Good vibez
  4. Leander KillsNem szól harang
  5. AWSViszlát nyár
  6. Viktor KirályBudapest girl
  7. yesyesI let you run away
  8. Tamás HorváthMeggyfa

The rules from the former years apply. The eight acts will present live their respective song and the jury members will comment and grade them. The juries are Judit Schell, Misi Mező, Károly Frenreisz and Miklós Both. The Top 4 from these grades qualify straight to the superfinal. The winner will then be chosen with 100% televote!

The show starts at 20:30 (CET) and can be watched here.

Sweden – It’s the most anticipated National Final within the Eurovision Fandom and it resume tonight with their last of the four semi finals. Melodifestivalen is finally back!

Seven Acts will take to the stage at the Fjällräven Center in Örnsköldsvik and will compete for the chance to make the grand final on March 10th. The top two will reach the grand final and the acts that come third and fourth will proceed onto the Second Chance round. This week we see the return of Felicia or Mariette who both took part in MF before, while Jessica even won it in 2003.

The semi-finalists for tonight are:

  1. Emmi Christensson – Icarus
  2. Elias Abbas – Mitt Paradis
  3. Felicia Olsson – Break That Chain
  4. RolandzFuldans
  5. Olivia EliassonNever Learn
  6. Felix Sandman Every Single Day
  7. MarietteFor You

It’s 100% televote tonight. The first round eliminates the bottom 2 entries. The second round sees 5 entries battling for the four qualifying places, two “direkt til finalen” and two to “andra chasen”. How much do we learn Swedish in MF, really?

The show starts at 20:00 (CET) and can be watched here.

lithuaniaLithuania – This is now the time for the semifinals in the Lithuanian National Final. So based on what we gathered online, we have 7 songs competing tonight with only 3 making it through. All of tonight’s entries have already performed before in the first heats.

  1. Bad television in Latvia.Super long breaks listening to bored people talking.

  2. And now we only have Supernova to keep us company..

  3. Televote can screw so much (as seen in MF almost every Saturday night) and the juries had AWS in but barely: Gergely 36pts, Viktor 30, yesyes 28, AWS 8, Leander 6, Gabor 4 the last two 0. AWS was so far with juries!

  4. this interval act in Latvia is just amazing :o

  5. And now to end the evening Liene Greifane wins Supernova lol

  6. So to top the night with another bad result, what would be your worst outcome in Supernova? Markus? Mine is Lauris Valters, the worst song by far in the 8. Can’t believe the juries saved it when Kris & Oz were second in televote of that semi :'(

  7. Another strong interval act musically. Supernova is a really strong NF, especially since it had 4 great songs overall (too bad 2 are not in this final)

  8. After the recap as well, my ranking for the Supernova final :

    1. Laura Rizzotto
    2. Markus Riva
    3. Edgars Kreilis
    4. Madara
    5. Lauris Valters
    6. Sudden Lights
    7. Ritvars
    8. Liene Greifane

  9. Sudden Lights Top4 after being wildcard!

  10. It has to be Laura now come on..

  11. Originally I was a little upset about AWS beating yesyes and Tamás, but after another listen I absolutely fell in love. I’m thinking Mélovin will stay as my new number-1 though until at least the internal selection reveals.

  12. Laura won.

  13. So Laura won?

  14. Phew that was close to being the biggest surprise of the evening. Best choice possible in Latvia. Very probable Q even from the semi 2.

  15. Laura won in LATVIA, CONGRATLATIONS!! :D

I really enjoyed her performance and believe she will give Latvia a good placing in the final, most likely another Top 10 after “Love Injected”. One of my favourites of the seasons, go Latvia!

  16. Well done, Latvia! Not my favourite, but a classy and well-performed song nevertheless. Gives me some James Bond feelings. (8/12) and steals the number one spot from Moldova. Good luck!

  17. No less than 5 semi-2 finalists were picked tonight for Lisbon :)

    • 4 of the second half :P

    • At the beginning of the March we will know even more

      • Mermie I meant that 5 songs competing in semi 2 in Lisbon were picked tonight, not that they will necessarily stay behind in semis in May. I actually think Latvia will do very well.
Hungary shot themselves on the leg tonight. Moldova is a tricky one to predict ftm, while although I can enjoy SVN very much, I doubt it will succeed.
Ukraine will do top 15 !

  18. Jurgis – “4love”, The Roop – “Yes, I Do” and Kotryna – “That Girl” made it in Lithuania.
If they have one more show they will end up only with good songs :P
