Serbia: It’s Sanja Ilić and Balkanika to Lisbon!


Serbia – Serbia’s National Broadcaster, RTS, hosted this year’s Beovizija contest tonioght. The final saw 17 acts compete to win the chance to represent the country at this year’s Eurovision in Lisbon and Sanja Ilić and Balkanika won with the song “Nova deca“.

17 acts participated in order to represent Serbia in Lisbon. This was tonight’s line-up:

After a very long interval act that featured almost all Serbian esc entries (except for 2007, 2011, 2012) and a few neighbours’ as well (Montenegro 2014, 2015, Bosnia & Herzegovina 2009 and Croatia 2017), results were revealed, with Sanja Ilić and Balkanika battling with Saška Janković in both sets of votes. Sanja won both and got the ticket to represent the country in Lisbon!

  1. I have now checked the performances in Beovizija.
    A couple of thoughts.
    Maja Nikolic, my guilty pleasure, was borderline embarassing; I’m glad this one hasn’t been chosen in the end.
    Mixed feelings regarding Ivan’s song: i liked very much the melody but he seemed to struggle at parts vocally. Overstaged too.
    And last but not least, my two absolute favs:
    Rambo & Beti look and sound masters at their genres. I really liked it.
    But…
    Umoran was simply impressive and magnificent. Hats off.

    Good luck to the Serbian entry once again.

  2. It’s a pretty decent balkan ballad, I like it a bit.

  3. The Serbian entry is nice and should go straight to the final and in the Top 10.
    Congratulations and 7/10.
