Latvia: Supernova Line-up Announced

LatviaLatvia – LTV has announced the 22 acts that will battle it out in this year’s Supernova competition to represent Latvia in Ukraine. Two shows will be held on 22nd and 29th January to introduce the acts and their songs. Heat 1 & 2 will be held on 5th and 12th February, with the the semi-final on 19th February, and the Supernova final on 26th February 2017. LTV revealed that it had received 168 songs from 89 artists. The 22 songs selected for the finals were chosen by an international jury: Petri Mannonen (Universal Music), Matthias Müller (BMG Rights Management/Crazy Planet Records), Fruzsina Szép (Lollapalooza Berlin) and Joy Deb (co-writer of ESC 2015 winner ‘Heroes‘).


This year’s competition will use Spotify for the first time to measure popularity of the songs by how many times they are streamed.
