Poland:Rules Published, Enter by January 20th

polandPoland – Broadcaster TVP this week revealed the official rules for Poland’s national selection for Eurovision 2017, Krajowe Eliminacje, and has brought back a 50/50 jury/televote decision for the final. Entrants must be Polish citizens and not have entered for any other country. Songs must be submitted by January 20th and TVP will reveal the finalists a week later. There is also a wildcard slot for any random entry that doesn’t have to follow the rules! The national final will take place on 11th February 2017.

Michał Szpak finished in 8th place for Poland last yer after winning big with the televoters but not with the juries. Poland’s highest finished was 2nd in 1994 with Edyta Górniak singing ‘To nie ja!‘.

  1. Was the 3rd place in televoting this year ONLY thanks to diaspora, the moment in 2011 (only 5 years ago) they finished last in a semi?
Also in 2008 in 100% televoting era, they failed big time in Final.
Let’s see if next year the trend will follow…
