  1. One of the rare Fridas I disagree completey with. It was an ok song, not great, but not bad, weaker in English but with a gimmicky live and an AWFUL performance by an awful performer, with very weird facial expressions and pointless movements that are all very awkward and offputting. In 2012 she ruined a very good song she wrote and Jonsi is the kind of charismatic cuties that would get some votes, plus good vocals. Now she ruined this all herself, and it didnt help Russia stole Mans’ gimmick as well. So in the end, it wasnt the big upset everyone thinks, I never had Iceland qualifying (I had Estonia qualifying so I aint better than the rest anyway).

  2. Well deserved. Actually Iceland is my overall 4th this year !!! :o

    • 1.ARM

      • 3 are my top 3, 2 i genuinely hate

        • 6.GER
Just missing : EST, HUNG, AUSTRIA,

          • Italy and Estonia are my biggest LIVE disappointments this year, otherwise they would rank #1 and #4 respectively.
Germany and Iceland were even better than expected.
Georgia and Latvia went massively up after the contest!

            • well I was always on the right bandwagons :p

            • ET agrees with the very obvious top 4 :
              ARM :)

            • Armenia? Not all of ET is crazy on that one… I’m pretty sure most of the skype gang isnt crazy on it. Maybe the rest of ET. I do feel like Ukr-Lat-Geo are way more universally praised on ET. Look at the recommendations…

            • But ARM is 4th on Gregor’s post ESC scoresheet. Bulgaria follows at #5.
It makes perfect sense to me. Best performances of 2016.
Australia and Russia are just outside top 10

            • yes, but 4th definitely weaker and lower than the top 3, it’s “best of the rest” because it has its huge followers, but not the runaway love Ukraine is, then followed by Latvia and Georgia.

            • Then i’ll szim against the strim(quoting Togravus).I definitely like Armenia but i don’t love it(#8),i like Latvia but find it poorly staged(is this really Aminata’s team???),i kind of like Georgia but i don’t think it deserves all this praise as if it’s a masterpiece and the live is effective but not great either.

            • I dont think Aminata’s live performance was insane. I mean, both years latvia had a great backdrop and great styling. But Aminata only stood there and was insanely a great performer and charismatic but that was it really. Plus no one said it was Aminata’s team, but Latvian delegation team…

            • I read it was the same team.Aminata’s visuals were much more effective, imo.Justs just stood there and sang.It was a poor live in terms of direction, imo. The song’s orchestration offered the chance for a much more clever staging and camera shots and lights etc.

  3. Iceland <3
I was expecting an Estonian win tbh so this is a nice surprise. It proves that for whatever reason,"Play" wasn't really liked outside the small ET standard members circle.

    • maybe it was second by a vote? some fridas were won by a single vote this year after all… ;)

      • You know if it’s the runner-up or not but my opinion on Estonia’s popularity still stands. It wasn’t even in the odds’ qualifiers,it did poorly with OGAE and apart from ET people didn’t really care about it much.I can’t really explain it because i liked it in the NF but we weren’t really in touch with reality here.

        • Yeah, obviously you’re right. On the ET bubble, it was very popular, still is in my top 10 even though I dont like the esc live, but the NF live was good and the song is quite great.

  4. Well deserved, my highest climber in my official list and went from a 30 ish placing to a 8 placing after that awesome performance! :D

  5. Are there only two awards left?

  6. The most underrated to me was Estonia, I don’t understand why the jurors didn’t like it. I know the performance was weird but his voice and the song were amazing.

  7. I’ve never been a fan of ICE16 but considering the choices we had in this category, I agree with the winner.

  8. Quite expected, I thought it was between Estonia and Iceland. Voted for Latvia. All except Croatia were too underrated for me.

  9. “Hear Them Calling” has been growing on me since the NF, but back then I was not impressed by it. Listening to it now, I think it should have been in the final.

Btw.: unlike many fans I was never really crazy about “Never Forget”. It is not a bad song, but it lacks something. Some nerve perhaps.

  10. Nah a copy-paste shouldn’t be awarded with anything despite being performed well.

  11. My top-5 most underrated for 2016:

    1. Hungary (Even though they deserved it for bringing that poor and unimaginative staging to the ESC)
    2. Croatia (Even though her singing in the final was not up to standards)
    3. San Marino (The only non-qualifier that shoud have qualified)
    4. Austria (For missing out the top-10 because of those damn juries)
    5. Spain (My that-was-not-that-bad-after-all! of this year. Interesting trivia: She briefly shot up to third in the betting odds straight after her final performance)

As for the scandinavians, they obviously took this year off.

  12. What about Macedonia?! Kaliopi is great! She deserved the Grand Final!

  13. Zlata Ognevich and Timur Miroshnychenko hot favorites to host eurovision 2017.Other rumored names are Verka and Ruslana. No Ruslana pls!It will end up being a hot mess of alcohol and tears.lol

  14. Estonia and Hungary for me 😊

  15. Finally…. well deserved! !!
