Not a great year for vids. My vote went to Italy. My personal favorite was Latvia’s but it was released way too late and no one knew it existed.
Italy here!
Hmm, not what I would have chosen. I thought Russia was the best.
Nice! My favourite as well, congrats France! :)
I must admit, I don’t get it at all. What was artistically interesting about this video?
Hmmm, nothing…Same case as Hungary 2012. However people tend to identify with the storyline…
Hm well, I see. But for me that’s just not enough.
On the other hand, France winning it is good for diversity
Come to think of it – what was artistically interesting about any of them?
True. Plus, art isnt just about aesthetics anyway. Lots of “classical” Hollywood movies arent the “auteurist” “pretty” films, and it’s not what makes them great. Not that any vids this year, or in general, are that good to begin with. It’s PROMOTIONAL work after all :/
“Not that any vids this year, or in general, are that good to begin with.”
I could not disagree more. Unless you mean just in ESC.
Yes I meant just in esc!
Not so much, except perhaps in the Italian video where there were some distancing effects (the 3D glasses, the “cut camera” shot before she began to sing). This is where my own vote went anyway.
I was torn between France and Italy but i think i went for France in the end.
Well deserved! The video was one of the strongest reasons of why I hyped it so much! Italy was my second choice :)
