Eurovision 2016 Rehearsals: Day 6

eurovision sweden 2016Eurovision 2016 – With two weeks to go to the contest, daily rehearsals start today and of course the Eurovision Times will do its best to cover them; here’s for the second rehearsals to the second semifinal: pics and vids will be officially released and we get to discuss, debate, analyze, predict…

So this is how it’ll work for the next 10 days or so: we will resume the system from last year. This is, there’s an article for the day’s rehearsals published the morning (or night before, knowing myself) with the calendar, which you can also find on the official site here. You can comment all day on it, based on all the info you can gather around and as soon as I can, I’ll get working on a recap article with links to pictures, videos, etc. However, I do work and have busy weeks at work ahead of me so I’ll do that at the latest in the evening, sooner if possible, depending. Usually, the girls are down there and as you know, this year ET did not get a pass, so they’ll be following from here and will help publishing any news article.

So we’re all counting on you guys to post in the comment section all the links you find and discuss all material out there. Hope it works out great for everyone, and already a big cheers to all the sites who will post their own made materials (Esckaz, Escxtra, Escinsight and the infamous Esctoday come to mind).

  1. UK 14th?? those ppl get a grip.

  2. Norway – strong vocals+disjointed and borderline annoying song.

Ukraine and Italy ruled the day, imo. Ireland. Lithuania and Australia were the ones that impressed me the least.

  3. Verdict today :

Highlights : Latvia, Switzerland, Belarus (it works apparently..), Australia, Denmark, Ukraine, Belgium, UK.

Worst of the day : Italy (by quite some distance), Lithuania, Albania.

Everyone else was about as expected.

  4. I’ve just talked to a friend on the phone and she has come up with lovely nicks for all acts like “The Sausage and the Astronaut”, “The Love Child Jesus and Captain Jack Sparrow Never Had”, “Nemesis” or “That Girl from the Health-Food Shop” …

  5. This Greek head of press lady is one of the most obnoxious creatures i’ve seen. She’s obviously not suitable for the job she’s given.

    • What did she do?

      • She was asked to translate the singer’s answer and she made up her own answer, she’s contantly interrupting them in order to remind them what to say and she always gives the impression she’s rude and stressed.Too much bad energy for a Head of press.

        • That’s what people representing administrations that don’t respect individual freedom and diversity do …

          • I think she’s mostly incompetent and stressed than really someone who tries to tell them what to do.It’s her first year in esc and she already had a row with Greek reporters during the song presentation here.

    • Laura has kind of colaborated with Selah Sue apparently (she wrote the original version of her esc entry apparently ?!) ! :

      (at 9:50)

      • Hmm…Selah Sue co-wrote the song.We have mentioned it so many times here and i told you yesterday again.

  6. I’ve just watched the Italian press conference and I say … Francesca for European president!

  7. I discovered that the Estonian singer Jüri speaks almost fluent Danish. So there’s already a vote from me there ;)

  8. Francesca was lovely at the press conference today <3

    • Eurovision will be transmitted by RAI 1 in Italy for the first time this year !

    • Yes she was and you can tell she wasn’t really satisfied with how all those items on stage looked.
Press conferences from Freddie,Zoe and Greta are highly recommended too, imo.

  9. Ok for the overrated hype Latvia has gotten from you guys I was forced to snek peak on the rehearsel… and I still dont get it. Its a different sound I can give you that, but thats it. his vocals are on the brink of screaming imo and the song itself is at least 5 times worse then Aminatas masterpeice and his song is getting more recognition then hers o.O I think this song will reach the final cause of the different sound and there it will barely reach the top 15 if not the juries be like ”oh this sounds different, lets vote for this” lmao XD Well no offence to almost all of you guys who like the song, but it is just that the hype for it puzzles me :P
