Lithuania: At Last… It IS Donny Montell to Stockholm

Donny MontellLithuania – The Saga has ended and Lithuania have finally decided that it will be Donny Montell flying the flag in May. Donny will be competing with his song “I’ve Been Waiting for this Night”. Throughout the night the six finalists performed for the public, Lithuanian Jury and International Jury

The six songs up for contention were:

Ruslanas Kirilkinas “In My World”
Ieva Zasimauskaitė “Life (Not That Beautiful)”
Aistė Pilvelytė “You Bet”
Erica Jennings “Leading Me Home”
Rūta Ščiogolevaitė “United”
Donny Montell “I’ve Been Waiting for This Night”

The Lithuanian Jury consisted of Ramūnas Zilnys (music reviewer), Nomeda Kazlaus (opera singer), Dalia Ibelhauptaitė (director and playwright), Justė Arlauskaitė (singer), Tomas Sinickis (musician, singer-songwriter) and Vaidas Baumila (2015 representative)

The International jury were Peter Freudenthaler (lead singer of the German group Fools Garden), Denis Ingoldsby (British producer) and Syron (British singer)

Throughout the night the public were able to vote with Donny Montell taking an early lead with double the votes of runner-up Erica Jennings. His lead narrowed nearer the end of the night but the final results were as follows…

Donny Montell is not a stranger to Eurovision, In 2012 he reached 14th place with his song “Love is Blind” but will he do better with “I’ve Been Waiting for this Night”?
