Estonia: Eesti Laul Final Takes Place Tonight

EstoniaEstonia – Tonight is the national final, and 10 acts remain in the battle to win this year’s Eesti Laul competition and the right to fly the Estonian flag at Eurovision in May. You can watch the show live on Eurovision.tv from 18.30 (CET).  A mix of jury and televote will put three acts through to the super final, where the winner will be voted by televoters only.

The ten acts and their songs in the final are…

Laura “Supersonic”
Go Away Bird “Sally”
Mick Pedaja “Seis”
Grete Paia “Stories Untold”
Kéa “Lonely Boy”
Jüri Pootsmann “Play”
Kati Laev & Noorkuu “Kaugel sinust”
Cartoon feat. Kristel Aaslaid “Immortality”
Meisterjaan “Parmupillihullus”
I Wear* Experiment “Patience”

Boookies have Jüri Pootsmann as the favorite to win Eesti Laul. In the Eurovision Times poll there’s a tie for joint first place:

Mick Pedaja  31.37%
Jüri Pootsmann  31.37%

  1. Out of the three in the Superfinal, I’m glad they went for Jüri.

Between Jüri and Mick, I think Jüri was always going to be more likely to generally do better with both jury and televote. Mick might have done better with jury but bombed the televote, which seems to be what happened in Eesti Laul.

Will have to listen to this again. I enjoyed it the first time but the second time wasn’t as powerful. Hopefully they work out the staging, they did really well with last year’s entry.
