Romania – Do you fancy representing Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm in May? You have until the 7th February to enter! A short video outlining some of the rules has been published by national broadcaster TVR. The full rules can be found here. The final will take place on 6th March.
For the first time the Romanian representative will be chosen 100% by the public. Tracks can be mailed or delivered directly to the Registry TVR (Dorobantilor no. 191, sector 1, Bucureşti), on CD, marked “For national selection Eurovision 2016” written on the envelope, or electronically at eurovision.tvr.ro
The timetable is as follows:
18th January to 7th February: Submission period open
8th-10th February: Preselection – tracks will be heard by jury
11th February : Announcement of the 12 songs that will enter the competition at a press conference.
4th March – Semi-final – live tv show – 12 acts, 4 to be chosen by the jury and 2 by the public
6th March – National final – live tv show of 6 acts – winner by 100% televote
