Sweden: Melfest Presenters Leaked?

melodifestivalen swedenSweden – The Swedish national newspaper, Aftonbladet, has revealed that Sarah Dawn Finer and William Spetz will join hostess Gina Dirawi, for Melodifestivalen 2016. It is expected that Gina will host each show and be joined by a different co-host each week.

Eurovision fans need no introduction to Sarah Dawn Finer, also know as Linda Woodruffe. William Spetz is a young Youtube star and at 19 years old has already had his own TV show and sitcom.

Broadcaster SVT previously announced that it has received a total of 2450 entries for Melodifestivalen 2016. The grand final will take place on 12th March 2015 at Friends Arena, Solna, Stockholm.

      • Interesting that your highest score for Sweden is the only year they didn’t qualify.

  3. I dont do a number score but still

2004 – Was really good at the time, bit old now,
2005 – Cant see how this won MF (maybe it was very different back then) but its ok song
2006 – Bit camp even for me, but still a good song and well deserved placing.
2007 – Not good, not much more to say
2008 – Loved it Hugely under rated but it was a strong year overall i suppose
2009 – A bit over the top, but still a great song and again like all ESC opera (Popera) under rated.
2010 – Dull hated it, glad it didnt qualify, there a reason it only Swedish entry not in the final
2011 – LOVED IT my FAVOURITE of this year, first time I fell in love with Swedish music (or maybe that was Basshunter
2012 – LOVED IT TOO – again my favourite of that year an all time classic will last longer than Fairytale
2013 – Not a big fan, hence the low (for Sweden placing in esc) Yohio was robbed by the juries he should have gone instead
2014 – Loved it, 2nd fave that year
2015 – Loved it, was 2nd at the time of the contest, but as time goes on, it doesn’t age well.

    • Of course 2015 doesn’t age well. It was great on first impact due to the stage and light gimmicks. Song-wise it’s a just an ok mainstream radio friendly tune. Nothing more imo…

    • Ah 2005 should have been represented by ”håll om mig” doh. (if your counting only televoting: 373.928 (las vegas got: 208.716, but the jury wanted las vegas so…))

      • I believe this one would batte it out with “My number one”.It’s a song that could definitely win back in 2005.

      • And if they had used today’s voting system, Nanne would have won too.

        1. Håll om mig – Nanne Grönvall 193
        2. Las Vegas – Martin Stenmarck 167
        3. Att älska dig – Shirley Clamp 134
        4. Alcastar – Alcazar 121
        5. A different kind of love – Caroline Wennergren 91
        6. Vi kan gunga – Jimmy Jansson 67
        7. Higher ground – Sanne Salomonsen 46
        8. Alla flickor – Linda Bengtzing 45
        9. Du och jag mot världen – Fredrik Kempe & Sanna Nielsen 43
        10. Ödet var min väg – Nordman 39

        • Yeah I know and have been extremely frustrated at that for years now! I dont even know why we had jury back then. I mean in Eurovision there was 100 % televote, so why not reflect that in melodifestivalen lol. I mean ever since le Björkman got in, we were in it to win it haha ;)
(And if ”A different kind of love” had gotten 4000 more votes, it had been in second place and pushed back ”Las Vegas” in the old system as well :P )

      • I actually prefer Las Vegas. Her vocals are quite bad and theres no real tune to sing along too.

        • Yeah I did that to and I actually remember cheering for ”Las Vegas”, but in recent years when I listened to both songs again ”Håll om mig” just cruched ”Las Vegas” imo :P So catchy I wanna die and still is!

    • When did Sweden 2011 climb up to 6/12 on your lists?

      • It’s not a bad song. Only Eric is a very bad singer …

        • It has very bad lyrics though…
Plus bad vocals and annoying singer lol

          • I agree. As a song (it is catchy as hell after all), it scored 8/12 once the ESC seson dust had settled. – 1 for awful nasal vocals and -1 for the annoying guy.

            • Hmmmm… :P

            • You shouldn’t be surprised. After all, you should know by now that I have the unfortunate tendency to fall for catchy c*rap now and then. BEL 04, CYP 05, CYP 12 … the list seems endless.

            • Not in FdlC though where the level is higher compared to esc ;)

            • I reallly, really love Ayşe Hatun Onal’s “Çak bi selam” though. The song was in my driving the car in summer playlist all season. Well it still is. After all, we still enjoy 20 degrees and sunshine here … in the middle of November! It’s fantastic and scary at the same time …

            • Liked that too ! But the #1 FdlC guilty pleasure is Japan’s first entry from Max !

            • That was the only time that I gave pts to a Max entry. I would probably still listen to it too but alas, the song is neither available for legal download nor on spotify here in Germany. :(

        • I have it at 6/12 for approximately the same reasons + a too bombastic synth-orchestration.

  5. I feel too lazy or not in the mood now to do a comparative ranking of the 5 nordics of the last decade. But it sounds interesting I’ll try to do it later!

  6. You are using the Old Melodifestivalen logo!! Change to the new one :D

PS. Im I the only one not being able to reach eurovisiontimes on my iPhone and safari anymore?? “Protocol error”

  7. Noisecut’s “Mariena” has just come up on my playlist and the song is much better than I remembered it to be. Well done Togravus … ;) … and well done Dimitri for the 12 pts. :)

  8. Quite good choices in that case. A rather safe bet but it sounds good.

  9. Aw Charlotte Perelli is presenting one <3
