ETSC 4 – The Results Tonight!

ETSC August 2015ETSC – Every year, the summer is the calm after the storm so it’s the perfect time to resume the highly anticipated the Eurovision Times Song Contest! 45 of you entered for the August 2015 edition and the voting went on for two weeks! The results are coming tonight at 22:00 CET!

Each summer, a good number of regular readers stay around for different reasons (they don’t get breaks from work or don’t go on holidays…) but there aren’t much news to keep us going. So the last few years we introduced all sort of games. The Eurovision Times Awards (Fridas) and the Douze Points Trivia Quiz kept us going in 2013 and Fridas have made come-backs the past two years. Last year, a lot of you asked for a fake Eurovision where each one of us would send songs and get to vote. And that was it: the Eurovision Times Song Contest, from then on known as ETSC.

After a first round open for people to sign up with a country and send a song, we got 45 people in, most everyone returned (a special nod to you Mario) with some newbies again, like Daniel, Razvan, Martin or Jasmin! Hopefully, they’ll stick around. But also some people who returned from last summer (Sedapsi, William, Mylor). And a few of our new regulars joined (Bay, Cyphermusic, Ren…). Results will come in tonight at 22:00 CET. You can rewatch the songs by clicking the picture below:

It was two weeks ago that we discovered each song individually in a dramatic Friday night reveal-show. And after that, each of the 45 players cast a vote. All votes are now in and we have a winner (also a full ranking, obviously). So gather around, for “ETSC 4, August 2015″ is about to come to an end!

This fourth event is officially hosted in Manchester, UK after “Laura” by Bat for Lashes won “ETSC 3, July 2015″. The official hosts are Simon Amstell and Jessie Cav! The venue is the Bridgewater Hall:

Now, all you need to do is get ready and prepared. The votes will be revealed one by one, following the random draw in which the songs were presented (so from Lithuania to Switzerland). One vote at a time, with a few minutes in between to give enough time for people to react, predict, comment, discuss. Also, if the person is around, he can, if he wishes to, explain a bit further his votes, what he thought of the songs. The votes are all on a scoreboard, to not reveal too much for people who can’t make it tonight, and you’ll see links for them in this page (so you’ll need to refresh often). Votes start very soon!

  1. I guess there’s no harm now (besides potential embarrassment) in saying that I was the one who gave 12 points to Russia 😢 I’m sorry Brittany had to bow out. On the bright side, I was so close to giving Israel the douze anyway that I’m happy for them to have received it, if only via a DQ!

Austria was somewhere in my 11th-14th place range, and as I expected the winner to be a country I hadn’t even considered voting for, this is a very good result IMO.

And I didn’t lose, which I was convinced would be the case…so that’s brilliant 😀

  2. the new article is almost ready!

  3. So..Summer 2014 : Morgan – 2 1st places
    Summer 2015 : Morgan : 2 2nd places
    Next summer 2 3rd places..

    By 2059 Morgan will have 2 45th places :P !

  4. Yay! My first Bottom 10 result. Better luck next year though. Congrats to Austria on the win!

  5. I fell asleep after Lithuanian votes :(

Now i’m checking one-by-one votes from you, I’m in Luxembourg vote now and about to continue.

Thanks Martin for 12 points. And for others voted Romania.

I still dont know the winner though because I dont read comments yet and didnt finish the voting links.

  6. Yaaay…. top 10. I didnt expect that actually

  7. Congratulation to Austria… I didnt vote for it though, i love many others. But i still can remember the song, this is one of the song that i can remember well but outside my top 10

  8. Well, so after continued failure it is time for doing a RTL.
