ETSC – Every year, the summer is the calm after the storm so it’s the perfect time to resume the highly anticipated the Eurovision Times Song Contest! 42 of you entered for the July 2015 edition and a random draw was made tonight! Discover the draw now and the songs Frida!
Each summer, a good number of regular readers stay around for different reasons (they don’t get breaks from work or don’t go on holidays…) but there aren’t much news to keep us going. So the last few years we introduced all sort of games. The Eurovision Times Awards (Fridas) and the Douze Points Trivia Quiz kept us going in 2013 and Fridas have made come-backs the past two years. Last year, a lot of you asked for a fake Eurovision where each one of us would send songs and get to vote. And that wasit: the Eurovision Times Song Contest, from then on known as ETSC.
We had two editions, July 2014 and August 2014. Since I’m French, the first edition was held in Cannes, where France held their first Eurovisions after winning (1959 and 1961). Since France won the first edition for France with Saint Claude by Christine and the Queens, the second edition was held in Paris. France won again the second edition with Where I Want To Be (California) by Lilly Wood & The Prick. So the third edition will be held in La Rochelle, home of one of the best Summer music festivals in France. Here’s the logo:
After a first round open for people to sign up with a country and send a song, we got 42 people in, with some newbies again. Hopefully, they’ll make appearances in comments. But also some people who returned from last summer. Songs will be revealed Friday night. In the meantime, to keep us busy, I made a random draw with my computer. I also made personal postcards for each entry which will be revealed along with the songs. Everyone can request to see their own postcards for now.
Does the draw really matter? Maybe so, after all #1 and #12 spots both got Top 3 in the first two editions! In ETSC 1 France won going as #12 while Norway was runner-up going as #1. In ETSC 2 the United-Kingdom went as #12 to achieve second place and Bosnia & Herezgovina finished 3rd going first! But in an online game, people get to listen multiple times to the songs, and in any order they want. So it’s quite possible to say that the draw is more of a gimmick than a true influence on the results.
So here’s the draw:
- Moldova (Lynn)

so 35th came last on one occasion, my mission is to reverse that to 35th won in ETSC 3!
Hm, so is this the order the songs will be revealed or is it the voting thingy? :P Im kinda new to the whole process of this contest ehe ^^
It’s the “running order” draw, so it’s how the songs will be presented. :)
Ok Thanks! :)
Well early numbers have tended to benefit Sweden these two last years in Eurovision, sooo keeping my and Swedens hopes up for a repeat hihi ^.^
I know there won’t be semifinals but will the all the songs be presented on the same night?
Yes. So, be prepared for a very… long night :)
We love marathons don’t we?
Definately ;)
Thanks for the statistical analysis, btw :)
I was a 200 meter guy in my youth … I’ll probably be asleep in time for the 5th song or so … ;)
I like 200 m too and I love 400 m ;)
Not a big fan of sprint (100m, 60m-indoor), on the other hand :)
I hated 400 meters which I had to do in training a lot. Everytime I had crossed the finsih line, I felt as if I was dying … lying in the grass trying to empty my empty stomach. But I enjoy watching 400 meters on TV. :)
Αfter beating the havoc of London transport system – tube strike – I am home! A big big hello from hottie Cyprus :) I am looking forward to the songs now!
Filouthkia! :D
Green with envy … :(
I would have been in Korcula tonight …
@Morgan: sth like 23:00 CET tomorrow night would be perfect for me ;) :P
It might start earlier to squeeze in all songs ;)
22:30 is fine too :P
If it sth like, let’s say, 5 minutes per song, we need about 3,5 hours.
You’ve got an optimistic e-mail. :)
Thank you. I really need some optimism these days ;)
Croatia hopes to bring you some real Balkan party with spices and donkeys! Curious to hear the rest of the songs. :)
42nd song it is! Good luck, everyone! :)
At what time will the show start tonight?
between 9 and 10 it’ll start I hope
Thanks. I’ll prepare for a late night then. :)
*adding coffee to the shopping list*
Maybe I can catch the last few songs as I won’t be home until around midnight probably
You’ll probably be home in time for the lovely song from Slovakia. :)
CET or GMT?
Okay what’s tonight? A live presentation? Can I just skip it?
Because 9 p.m. means 3 a.m. here
The songs will be uploaded one after the other tonight. And they will still be there when you wake up tomorrow morning. :)
I will wake up at 4 a.m. to have my ramadhan breakfast. Soo… maybe 4 or 5 songs are revealed, no?
Depends on how fast Morgan is. :)
How much time will we have to vote?
probably until Sunday 19th
When do we get the article with the pictures of the artists?
Coincidentally, 29th was my placing from the contest and now it’s my running order. Hopefully I can better it this time around.
I am not gonna be around. Have fun :)
:(
It happened in ETSC2 and FdLC7 :p I am on vacation.
I see. Enjoy your vacation.
Hopefuly starts soon, had a nightmare of a day, need something to cheer me up, urgently
Morgan said that he would start sometime between 9 and 10 CET. It will be a long night …

Tonight is the night….So many beautiful songs are on the way yahoooooo❤️
Laundry time. ;)

Wise girl. :)
So what time is that in GMT (Ireland/UK)
How many regulars are refreshing the homepage every few minutes?
+1

I have known Morgan for so long and know that he is a creature of the night. :) Therefore, I did not expect things to get busy before 9:30 and wrote e-mails after dinner.
That is very true. It’s going to be a long night, I’m now creating a little picture to get gossips going :p
*biting my nails* :)
I hear the Te Deum.
There’s going to be a brand new article for the songs, right?
right, it’s coming up
