  1. The Belgian performance looked quite strange the first time we got to see snippets of it during the rehearsals. I thought the whole staging looked clumsy and kind of a mess actually. But they proved me wrong live. It was a clever, original and fascinating show. Though he should have skipped the thing he does between 2:20-2:24.

    Voted for Estonia myself.

  2. Again i’m on the fence with this. There were parts of the performance that looked very good and other parts that looked awkward.

  3. I don’t agree. Belgium 15 looked forced and unnatural (especially the scene on the floor)
    On the other hand, Latvia…WOW!

  4. An expected, but deserved result, even if ORF did their best to butcher the Belgian performance with awful, awful camera-work.

Today is my 3 year anniversary with WordPress (and ET)!

  5. Congrats Loic ! :-)
(Btw I had a weird dream that Loic was in my house last night..Hope Morgan does not get too mad :-P)
I voted for Belgium so I am happy !
I wouldnt be dissapointed if Latvia won bur I still slightly prefer Aminata’ performance from Supernova.

  6. Think I voted for Estonia, but I can’t remember. :P Belgium’s a worthy winner, though.

  7. I’m a bit disappointed, to be honest. While many aspects of the performance were really good, I saw many chances for improvement and refinement.

Meanwhile, the Latvian performance provided the perfect visual accompaniment to the song, and the only chances for improvement I saw there were in categories like dress and styling.

Still, Belgium did have a good performance. Congrats to Loic and his team.

  8. Belgium, Estonia and Latvia were all great. :)

  9. Well latvia deserved this more imo, but congratulation Belgium!

  10. on the euro grapevine, Victoria Wood said she’d like to “help the Uk win Eurovision” (she is a big fan apparently), obviously because she writes such kind of songs and such well-known sketches in the UK, important is to understand she is the number one female comedian in the UK of all time , and especially with the Northern English humour
here an example; it would be difficult to understand outside Northern/Middle England I guess (for me I understand everything thanks to my father!)an example of the reality of the English language maybe? :

    • and for me when people here are fighting about such “English language issues” it’s good to remember 1/English language has so many wonderful advantages such as famous humour above (with a southern English accent it would never be the same and it is famous for that) 2/ in ESC , singing in English will never have the same advantage either..

  11. Congratulations.
