ET Awards 2015: Best Promotion Video!

Eurovision Times Awards 2015Eurovision 2015 – This year we resume the “Eurovision Times Awards” to give prizes (the Fridas) for the best in every category! And you get to vote! Today, we resume the polls with the two categories focused on promo vids and spokepersons!

2015 will be the second year for Eurovision Times to organize a new contest (you can check 2013’s results here and the 2014’s ones here). As with the past couple of years, our blog hosts now two contests: TEKO which takes place before the contest and the “Eurovision Times Awards” after the contest. The principle of the ET Awards is simple, in each categories, the staff of this website will nominate a few entries per categories and open polls for the public to vote in them so we can reveal afterwards all the winners. The winners recieve an imaginary trophee, entitled the Fridas in hommage to Frida Boccara, the French Eurovision winner in 1969 with “Un jour, un enfant“.

The eleventh award is in the “Delegation” category and it’s “Best Promo Video”. Here are the results of the recommendations made by the regular users of Eurovision Times in this category:

  • 13 Norway
  • 6 Belgium
  • 3 Georgia
  • 3 Romania
  • 2 Azerbaijan
  • 2 Estonia
  • 2 Latvia
  • 2 Serbia
  • 2 United-Kingdom
  • 1 Armenia
  • 1 Belarus
  • 1 Hungary
  • 1 Israel
  • 1 Italy

However, it’s down to the staff of Eurovision Times to choose the official nominees. But it’s up to you to vote in our poll below which entry had the best backdrop this year! You need to click on the country’s name to be redirected to the promo video of the song. The nominees in alphabetical order are:

Rules: the polls will be open for a week. At the end of the week, an article will announce the winner of the category but not the detailed results. The full results will however be given to you once all polls are closed so that you don’t get influenced (we never know) in your following votes. Every IP gets only one vote, please do not cheat, do take in consideration to watch very careful to the promo video before voting and do not vote necessarly for your favorite song but vote regarding to the category. Of course, it’s pointless to vote only for your own country unless you’re really certain it should win. May the best win!

  1. For fairness, I won’t say for which I have voted!

  2. Also, I decided to only nominate one of the two Belgian videos and went with the dance video which was released before te contest as promo material, even though it’s not the official video found on Eurovision’s youtube!

  3. Easy ! Norway !!! I wish they had gone with something similar on stage!

  4. Thank you Morgan for nominating Azerbaijan! :)

That’s the one for me, with its true Ingmar Bergman anguish mood in it. :P I also think it captures the whole song perfectly, with all the inner pain and gloominess.

  5. Norway,Romania and Georgia are all very good.I believe that Norway is the best and more complete artistically but i also find the Romanian one very emotional.I ended up voting for Norway and i agree with Donnie. They should have tried to bring the video’s atmosphere on stage.

  6. With the 13th vote, everyone got a vote

  7. Good choice of nominees. The Georgian video is wonderfully shot, but not particularly interesting. The Norwegian video (like last years’) is also very nicely produced, but I don’t buy the connection with the song and overall it feels a little too ‘style over substance’.

    I voted for Azerbaijan.

  8. I like all 5 of them. Norway’s one is a little masterpiece.

  9. Voted for Azerbaijan. Thought of voting for Norway, but eh, I just don’t buy it.

  10. I am skipping this one, because I watched very few videos.

  11. Team Norway on this one! A dark, moody ballad teamed with a food fight will always get my vote.

  12. Norway. Because I love a handsome man in white tie.

  13. Easy, Georgia!

  14. It was betwen Norway and Azerbaijan here!! I would vote for Armenia if Armenia was in the list!! 2:17-2:40 of the official video just created goosebumps is the best thing our team made this year !! Anyways it was to work on people with certain background so I’m not surprised that Geneology is not in the list!

  15. No Latvia here really :-( ?
Ugh..anyway..between Belgium and Norway then..I voted for Norway. Thats a dinner I would like to attend..!

  16. Voted for Belgium’s original, but sicne it was the dance that counted, which wasn’t bad, but was misled. Would’ve voted Georgia. Simple and effective.

Armenia should’ve been nominated. Gorgeous video and love the creatives of it.

  17. […] can click here to look at the full recommendations and nominations from last week’s article! There were 40 recommendations for 14 countries in the first round and 119 votes were cashed in an […]
