Eurovision 2015 Rehearsals: Day 4

vienna eurovision 2015Eurovision 2015 – With two weeks to go to the contest, daily rehearsals start and of course the Eurovision Times will do its best to cover them; here’s for the first rehearsals to the second half of semifinal 2: pics and vids will be officially released and we get to discuss, debate, analyze, predict…

Here’s tomorrow’s schedule:

There will therefore be 9 countries getting their first taste of the stage and first impression from it. As usual, in first go, countries rarely reveal everything from their staging, definitely not the clothes. But the fans get an idea of what direction the performance is heading towards. Usually, the official site publishes photo sets from rehearsals and a short clip (around 90 seconds) about the artist’s impressions around 40 minutes later. Last year it was not possible for any fan sites to record anything else, so you’ll have to just read what everyone there thought about it without seeing more with your own eyes (and of course hear with your own ears).

Don’t forget, the recap article will be published as soon as possible, considering the girls are in Vienna and I still have to work. But the girls will keep us upbdated and all of our friends in the ET community will post links as soon as they’re out to keep the discussion going!

  1. I need to eat before I do the recap article :)

  2. It might be a bit early but I will give it a go – no order

    Lithuania
    Ireland
    Montenegro
    Norway
    Czech Republic
    Latvia
    Azerbaijan
    Sweden
    Cyprus
    Slovenia

Israel or Poland can qualify in expense of CZR/LAT.

    • I believe Iceland and Israel have more chances to qualify than Czech Rep. tbh and you can’t rule out Poland either.Could Latvia be a shocking non qualifier?Time will tell…

      • I skipped Iceland by mistake. I have them as a certain qualifier in expense of either CZR. However anything can happen. Even Latvia or Montenegro losing out.

      • and as I understand from my dear Finnish friends, Finland is going for the alternative this year, and see what happens (that Finland really cares who wins , it seems, couldn’t care less, thus what was voted worst Finnish song in 1973/ (maybe worst NF song of all time has become a classic in Finland! the ESC world upside down! :-)

  3. Interesting results from the esctoday press poll…Sweden and Israel tied first, Azerbaijan close after and then Latvia. Slovenia did not do too well. Poland came 2nd last and Iceland last..

    • Slovenia doesnt seem that popular around the web except ET where it won TEKO (but it lost to Israel in the open poll first round…)

      • I think it is quite popular around the esc blogs and the betting odds.

        • Betting odds and ogae results are good for it, maybe it’s just the press there then? or when thrown in the mix with Sweden, Azerbaijan or Israel it’s lost for them?

          • It’s a very strong 2nd half that must be said. I won’t be surprised if 8 out of 9 songs in this half qualify and only a couple from the first half.

            • that’s what I think too, which proves that the currnt system of “creating your own draw” and still “random allocation between first and second half” is even more stupid than 100% draw or 100% decided by broadcaster…

            • I believe it’s a good balance between the two systems but it just happens that the songs drawn to the first half are not as good :-\

    • However, the guy said that the reason why Slovenia did poorly in their poll is that it’s the same performance like their n.f.No surprise factor. That’s why Sweden gathered only 55 pts too.

  4. According to the press that’s the top10 of SF1

    Belgium
    Greece
    Estonia
    Russia
    Georgia

    Serbia
    Hungary
    Armenia
    Netherlands
    Romania/Denmark

They too think SF1 is more open.

  5. Sweden comes across as slick, shiny polished to death and professional. It seems to be a very effective performance. The song does nothing for me though – lifeless and sterile.

P.S. – I never said that Mäns is arrogant. I did criticize him for saying that he would date a man when he did. Opportunistic much?

  6. Switzerland – messy and overreachin.
Cyprus – classy and exquisite (it has never left my top 10)
Slovenia – I really like the song, but I do not know what to say about the available snippet.
Poland – very effective stage presentation. Totally à la ‘kumbaya moment’. The lyrics are not interesting at all, but the melody is.

  7. How did Israel screw up the staging? I’m moving the Netherlands to #6, taking Israel’s spot.

The song is about going out and finding a new girl to replace the one that just broke your heart. So you stage it without any girls? My heart broke watching this. Lol
