  1. I voted for Armenia: a gem of a clip and my first encounter with my 2014 winner was through that video, so it’s quite special to me.

PS: so Netherlands won 3 awards early, and now lost 2 to Austria and 2 to Montenegro…

  2. I voted for Armenia but i can understand why this one won.Beautiful landscape and a very standard eurovision video,it makes sense.

  3. A fine vide that fits the emotions in the song very well. But I still think the Norwegian video was artistically superior.

        • Indeed. Someone had to mention it. Not that I have any great thoughts about that particular song.

Btw, in 2003 I heard a band at the Roskilde Festival called Fjernsyn Fjernsyn (Television Television). Obviously a pun on “Video video”. They played some very weird inststrumental free jazz, and they claimed their music was about sausages.

            • Interesting. It’s a very empty song for me. But tastes differ :-)

Now I dare say it: My 1982 winner is “Ein bißchen Frieden”. Not because it is particularily great (it’s a quite clichéed song all in all, especially the message), but there’s somehow something about it. Nicole seems to really mean what she is singing. And sometimes it is simplicity that works. The coda (“Sing mit mir ein kleines Lied”) gives me near-goosebumps. A lot of nerve.

Still, I only have it at 8/12 with nothing above that in 1982. There aren’t any great songs, but I quite like Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Cyprus and Sweden. Yugoslavia is ok too. The rest is either boring (Luxembourg, Turkey, Ireland, partly Belgium), kitsch (Portugal, UK, Austria, Netherlands) or badly performed (Spain). I don’t know what to think of Israel.

            • I absolutely hate Germany 1982, both musically and lyrics-wise. But Nicole’s performance puts the nail in it for me as one of the worst winners ever. I also absolutely hate the Israeli, Dutch and Swiss songs that year (and three of the four hatred ones made te top 3). Their lyrics, performance were so painful. But I entirely hate the 1982 year all together.

I only like Denmark, Belgium, Finland and Yugoslavia. I’m ok with Ireland, Spain, Uk and Austria. And sorta like Portugal for the wronf reasons. The rest is just no.

  4. It is a well-made conventional video clip that mostly benefits from the spectacular Montenegrin landscape (I will be there in August, staying in hotels in Perast, Cetinje and Virpazar … :) …) The farewell scene is sweet and touching too, but all in all and from a strictly aesthertic point of view, I think that there were better options available.

  5. I voted for Armenia, but I think Slovenia’s video should have been nominated over the tragic Norwegian clip.

  6. Norway got my vote, but I can see why Montenegro won. I would’ve liked to see Estonia at least nominated. The atmosphere was perfect for the song, IMO. :)

  7. Hello from New York, everyone! :)

I’m glad to see that Montenegro win. It’s conventional bit done in such a charming way so I think it was the right choice.

  8. As a lover of old Peugeots, I voted for Montenegro, from the available candidates. But I was looking for another candidate Ione that, like Montenegro, also had a narrative) — I would have voted for Switzerland. It still makes me laugh watching Sebalter blithely fluffing the cushions, causing kitchen disasters, and having a ball on the luggage trolley. It fits the song beautifully, without detracting from the off-beat curiousness of the enigmatic lyrics.

  9. Yay my favorite video won :) Beautiful Montenegro ❤️❤️❤️

To those who liked Can Bonomo back in 2012,his latest video is out

  10. Lol, Montenegro is heading for a big win.
It is the only contestant that won 100% of its nominations. See, “nominated 2 times overall, “Best promotion video” is its second so far”.
Slovenia and Montenegro are the biggest surprises of the season.

  11. Well it was pretty obvious. The dutch clip was perfect as well, the norwegian clip was very well made too. But this one stood out significantly. The beauty of montenegro as a country helped but the whole concept was aesthetically pleasing and very classy.
