Eurovision 2014: Monday 28th Rehearsals

Eurovision Denmark 2014Eurovision 2014 – This is it! Now only two weeks from the contest, daily rehearsals will begin and of course the Eurovision Times will do its best to cover them. We start off with Monday 28th rehearsals: comment on all the latest bit of info and we’ll keep you posted as soon as possible!

First of, we want you to remind that our site offers you a complete and impressive page with all the informations for transportation, calendar of all social events related to the contest in this page. As for tomorrow rehearsals, here’s the schedule:

There will therefore be 10 countries getting their first taste of the stage and first impression from it. As usual, in first go, countries rarely reveal everything from their staging, definitely not the clothes. But the fans get an idea of what direction the performance is heading towards. Usually, the official site publishes photo sets from rehearsals and a short clip (around 90 seconds) about the artist’s impressions around 40 minutes later. Last year it was not possible for any fan sites to record anything else, so you’ll have to just read what everyone there thought about it without seeing more with your own eyes (and of course hear with your own ears).

As for us, Hulluna is down there and will give us live reports from Copenhagen. But she won’t be static in the press center giving you, well, the same information than any other esc sites. She’ll roam around and I’m sure will give us more insiders info. I’ll be in charge of updating the rehearsals’ as soon as I can. As I said earlier, I still work daily so I will publish the “before” articles late at night or in the mornings so that you guys can comment live if you’re lucky to be home and follow each rehearsals. As soon as I get back, i’ll update articles to link you to the official photosets and videos, and summarize what most sites said on what they saw and heard. Hope that’ll suit you guys.

Let the official Eurovision weeks begin!

  1. I’m loving Azerbaijan more and more. Baku 2015.
Albania also. She did a fine job. If only they kept it in Albanian though.

    UKR and BEL remain today.

All in all, a great 1st day of rehearsals.

  2. Sanna is a meter taller than everyone. LOL

  3. Watching Aram alone on the stage! Fatal mistake IMO !! And why do I remember Amauri?
Azerbaijan nice show but I think that we will be able to make clear judgments only watching it at seminal!
Sweden -cold nothing special as it was in MF !
    Albania – nice little thing,
    Russia – meh,
    Iceland – meh
Latvia – meh (but charming guys have to mention)
    Estonia – I miss Loreen!

  4. Ukraine is up, and do they ever have some memorable staging. Well done.

  5. Ukraine : So Mariya brought a hamster wheel…The parts where the dancer is not running in it are good and the backdrop is very dunamic and fits the song a lot.
But when the dancer pretends the running hamster it gets kind of silly…Strong performance but it is such an unecessary prop that offers nothing (or even gets away from) to this song.

Belgium : Kept as simple as it should, nice colours in the backdrop, and Axel delivers. He is a little bit too jolly and not very emotionally invested but it could be his excitment to be on stage. I suppose he will be “there” the night of the semi. Other than that a competent performance, what I expected more or less.

  6. And once again we have an azerbaijani participant who we know can speak english more fluently that quite a few others, speaking in azeri and this annoying head of delegation is “translating”…I mean you can even see her telling her what to say at certain points…I don’t know if its hilarious because they think we don’t know or sad that not even a simple meet and greet cannot be done without censorship..

    • How come we know she speaks English fluently?During her promo tour she used Russian for her interviews.

      • In the interviews I have seen (some in esctoday etc) she seemed quite capable to pull through a simple interview such as these done today..
I actually thought we would get an azerbaijani participant talking to the press for once but no such luck obviously…

  7. Belgium = They should have sent Sil instead. I believe this now more than ever after what I just found out.

I found out that she was a member of Sylver back in the day and released one of my favorite dance songs ever, “Turn the Tide.”

  8. Saw Belgium!! How i don’t want to lisen to that “Mama!! I love you, I need you, I miss you!! Mother!!!!!” twice……

  9. Armenia: Great first rehearsal.Simple and stunning. This is a contender for the crown.

Latvia: A non qualifier.I just find it hard to watch even for those 30 sec….

    Estonia: A nice performance.A qualifier,imo.

Sweden: It’s a contender,no doubt about it.A professional staging and the vocals will be perfect too.

Iceland: I don’t like the song but i wouldn’t rule out a qualification. It’s wacky enough and stands out enough for that.

  10. Albania: I like Albania this year but everyone else seems to not like it.What i don’t like is this platform and the whole cliched presentation.I’m afraid it will struggle.

Russia: So over the top and kitsch….The can sing, though.

Azerbaijan: A nice stage presentation but i don’t know if it will steal away the attention from the song and Dilara’s performance. No doubt it will qualify.

Ukraine: Gimmick galore!I don’t know how it will look on tv,though. It may be nice.I really dislike this weak song.

Belgium: It was what i expected and knew i wouldn’t like.A very possible qualifier, though.

  11. Ok guys I’m just back home and I’ll make the recap article now for everyone who will get home after me to easily find all videos and pictures and comment on today’s first runs.

  12. what do you think about Mariya Yaremchuk? I think yesterday she was great. This dancer with wheel and all choreography was amazing

  13. I like Mariya too) after rehearsal her chances rising, I think. This wheel gives more space for dancer’s ideas, so perfomance become more interesting to watch.
