United Kingdom: Geri Halliwell Rumours Resurface

united kingdom UKUnited Kingdom – Eurovision forums and Twitter were awash with rumours this evening that the United Kingdom is considering choosing The Spice Girls’ Geri Halliwell for Eurovision. It’s not the first time she has been linked with the job. There’s no credible source for this rumour, although it is suggested her people have been pushing the idea and she is relaunching her music career early this year.

It’s that time of year when the UK fans get itchy for news and rumours always surface that turn out not to be true, but this is one that has appeared more than once. UK fans seem split… some delighted at the idea, some appalled. No doubt the UK will keep everyone hanging on until the last moment as usual.

Let us know what you think. Should Ginger Spice put on the union jack mini dress one more time?

  1. There’s no way Geri is doing it. She’s just fine doing her job at Australia’s Got Talent. Even though I liked her early solo work, her recent single isn’t that great. It didn’t even do well in Australia when it was exclusively released there. I hope they really send someone current this time like Little Boots. Btw didn’t Simon Cowell say that he was going to finally help the UK for Eurovision this year?

  2. Her recent single was OK, but I am a little against this idea. It seems like another washed up singer trying to rebuild her career by doing Eurovision – and it won’t work.

Why can’t they ever try something new? Send someone/something current and preferably a band!
