Ireland: Best of Eurovision Tour to go Overseas

best of eurovisionIreland – Last year saw a successful tour of former Irish Eurovision winners around Ireland. They now intend to take the tour further. Savee Entertainment has announced that due to the phenomenal success of the BEST OF EUROVISION show in 2012, they are delighted to announce that the show will tour again in Autumn 2013 in venues across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.

The show saw former winners Dana, Johnny Logan, Linda Martin, Niamh Kavanagh and Paul Harrington & Charlie McGettigan perform their winning songs as well as current Eurovision hits, to rave reviews.

Dana was the first Irish winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1970 with the song All Kinds Of Everything. Ten years later in 1980 Johnny Logan won his first ESC with the song What’s Another Year. He made it two titles, something no other person has ever done as yet, in 1987 with Hold Me Now.

In 1992 in Malmö, Linda Martin won with Why Me? Ireland were at their peak in this era, with Niamh Kavanagh winning singing In Your Eyes in 1993 and Paul Harrington & Charlie McGettigan bringing the title back to Ireland amazingly yet again with Rock ‘n’ Roll Kids in 1994. Then Ireland went and won it for a record 7th time in 1996 with Eimear Quinn singing The Voice.

Many Eurovision fans will love to see this show; we’ll post tour dates and ticket details as soon as we have them.

  1. I think that Johnny is a little bit hilarious singing Euphoria, isn’t he?

    • That’s certainly true. And he hasn’t understood that ‘Euphoria’ is not only a song but a Gesamtkunstwerk, in which the visual aspects are as important as the song itself. What poor Johnny did can be summarised in very few words: missing the point, ridiculous and embarrassing to watch.

  2. Johnny Logan should stop thinking he is the king of Eurovision, him singing Euphoria is pathetic.
