Denmark Wins Eurovision 2013!

Malmö - Eurovision 2013 just finished and we have a winner! Emmelie de Forrest wins the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song Only Teardrops ! Check out the rest of the results here! Running Order Revealed!

Malmö - Now that the 26 finalists are known, and that the second semi final qualifyers picked the allocation in either first half or second half, it was down to SVT to propose a draw to make the best possible show (at least in their opinion) to the EBU to accept it or not. Tonight: Second Semi-final!

Malmö – Tonight the second semi-final of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast live from the Malmö Arena from 21:00 to 23:00 CET. Seventeen countries will fight for ten spots in the grand final to be held saturday in Malmö where twenty-six entries will fight for the title. Watch live with us! (more…)

Eurovision 2013 – The Eurovision Song Contest reharsals will resume today as the 6 finalists will take the stage for their own first rehearsals. The first countries up to rehearse this morning will be Spain, France and Germany and later today Sweden, United-Kingdom and Italy. The first rehearsals are held behind closed doors this year, but the press could watch and report from the screens in the Euro Club. We will keep you updated as soon as possible on this page ! Welcome Press Conference Report

Malmö_ArenaMalmö 2013 – This morning saw the the press centre in Malmö officially open to the press and accredited fans, and the formal Welcome Press Conference was held by the EBU, SVT and the city of Malmö. Jon Ola Sand of the EBU spoke of The EBU corporate identity and this year’s contest, Sieste Bakke about the new website and App and SVT about their passion for the shows and what they would entail. Belgium – Belgium was the one of the first countries to reveal their artist way back in November when RTBF revealed Roberto Bellarosa would be representing them in Malmö. Let’s find out more! Born in 1994, Roberto Bellarosa attended the Music Academy of Huy to study music theory. It was here where his teacher noticed his special talent and encouraged him to take singing lessons. (more…)

crystal hallAzerbaijan – A court in Azerbaijan has sentenced three people to prison in connection with an alleged “terrorist” plot to attack last year’s Eurovision Song Contest in the capital, Baku. According to news reports, the Azerbaijani citizens were guilty of “attempting to blow up the Israeli embassy” on the eve of the competition, court documents were quoted as saying. (more…)

Terry Wogan commentated for many years for the BBC, sometimes irritating non-UK listeners with his ‘Woganisms! In the UK though he is part of Eurovision history so Bonnie dropped in to see him. A little neighbourly voting saw their 12 points awarded to Valentina Monetta of San Marino with current leaders Denmark only down in 4th place in their scores. Malmö Gets Ready for the WONK Parties

wonk1Malmö 2013 – Eurovision fans are looking forward to some good club nights with former Eurovision stars in Malmö courtesy of the nightclub WONK. Martin Rolinski, Alcazaar, Charlotte Pirelli and Loreen are all set to appear, and the club claims that their 5th guest, who has yet to be announced, will be one of the biggest Swedish stars in Eurovision history.  (more…)

BelarusSwedish human rights’ organisations are trying to get Belarus banned from Eurovision. After last year’s event in Baku, more voices have been heard calling for undemocratic countries and those with poor human rights records to be banned by the EBU. Mixing politics with music is something the EBU absolutely refuse to do though. Is it time they did, considering their own values? (more…)

Poll: Which Song Should Marco Mengoni Sing?

italyItaly – After Moldova’s national final this evening, the only song we are still awaiting confirmation on is Italy’s. Representative Marco Mengoni had some good feedback for his San Remo song ’L’Essenziale’, which saw large numbers of downloads on iTunes. Iceland.jpgIceland – The Icelandic representative Eythor Ingi has today confirmed that he will sing ‘Ég Á Líf ‘ in Icelandic in May.  This is the first time Iceland has not sung in English in the Eurovision Song Contest Finals since 1997. The official video can also be seen online now. (more…)

BulgariaElitsa Todorova & Stoyan Yankoulov today premiered the their three offerings for Eurovision 2013. These songs were “Dzupai Libe Boso”, “Kismet” and “Samo Shampioni”. The songs were performed by the duo on the TV Talk Show NedeliaX3 which aired on BNT1. Elitsa and Stoyan were picked internally and are no newbies to the contest after representing Bulgaria back in 2007 with “Water”. (more…)

Latvia: It’s PeR to Malmo

Latvia – The country has decided and they have chosen PeR to represent them in Malmo for Eurovision 2013 with the song “Here We Go”. A total of twelve acts competed to fly the Latvian flag in Sweden with three reaching the Super Final. Joining PeR were Samanta Tina with “I Need A Hero” and Marta Ritova and with “I Am Who I Am”. Estonia – The results are in and the first bunch of songs through to the Eesti Laul Final have been decided. Ten acts performed hoping to qualify to the grand Final next month but only 5 succeeded. Malmö Stage Design Unveiled!

eurovision 2013Eurovision 2013 – The stage design for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö has today been revealed by SVT. The sketch shows a large round stage for the main performance, and a catwalk leading to a smaller round stage at the back of the arena. The audience will stand close to both stages and the catwalk. ‘Eurovision in Concert’ Tickets On Sale

wurstEurofest – This week sees the UK’s annual Eurofest fundraising event and the guest performer will be Austria’s Conchita Wurst.
