Moldova – With only three days to go before rehearsals start in Malmö, Moldova has finally released the official video for ‘O Mie‘. The video shows Aliona Moon enlisting the help of the obligatory Eurovision Song Contest wind machine and a lot of chiffon and powder paint in the colours of the Moldovan flag. Moldova – After several days of speculation, it has been confirmed that the Moldovan entry will this year be sung in Romanian. Moldova – In the last national final of this season, Moldova has chosen to send Aliona Moon to Malmö to represent them! After the public televoting Boris Covali and Aliona Moon were in 1st and 2nd place with 12 and 10 points. Molodva – Despite earlier fears of very few entries in Moldova, in the end it many acts had entered. The official selection jury has now reduced this down to 24 final acts. These acts will choose from a pot of 60 songs in the next two weeks. Songs have been received from Moldova, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Canada and the USA as the Moldovan composition rule has been abolished this year. (more…)

Moldova – It looks like Moldova may struggle to have two semi-finals as originally planned this year after it was revealed only 15 artists have entered. The new rules there meant artists could not sing their own songs. Artists would be matched up with songs submitted by composers. Eurovision 2012 – Today saw the resumption of rehearsals by acts in both semifinals. Russia kicked off this morning. They got a huge round of applause in the press conference where journalists were watching on the big screen. Eurovision 2012 – Another day’s rehearsals have taken place at the Crystal Hall and reports coming through from Baku say the Russian grannies put on a good first performance, and Ireland had a nice fountain. Moldova – Last night saw the Moldovans send Pasha Parfeny to Azerbiajan. He came out of top of the 21 Acts in last night’s O melodie pentru Europa, after a vote system using 50-50 jury and public televoting. The song he will sing in Baku is called “Lautar” but is sung in English. Moldova will compete in the first semi-final to be held in Baku on 22nd May. (more…)

Moldova – TRM, Moldovan official broadcaster, published today on their website the 31 songs that had been sent as candidates to represent the country in Baku. The highlight goes to Nelly Ciobanu, who represented Moldova in Eurovision 2009 with the song “Hora Din Moldova”. Back then, she only got the 14th place in the Final, but she wants to try again. Her song for 2012 is called “Turn On The Light”, and is sung entirely in English. (more…)

Moldova – Today, Moldovan national broadcaster TRM revealed that the national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 will be held on March 10. Moldova - Tonight a 50/50 combination of televoting and the verdict of an expert jury in Moldova decided that Zdob şi Zdub should represent the Eastern European country in Düsseldorf with their song “So Lucky”. The Chisinau based band is no newcomer at the Eurovision Song Contest. They were Moldova’s debut entry in 2005 and came 6th with their energetic song “Boonika Bate Toba”. Moldova -The Moldovan national broadcaster has announced the 25 acts that have qualified for their national final to be held on February 26. ” O melodie pentru Europa 2011″ sees the return of the first Moldovan representatives ever: Zdop si Zdup.
