Moldova: Official Video Released

Moldova – With only three days to go before rehearsals start in Malmö, Moldova has finally released the official video for ‘O Mie‘. The video shows Aliona Moon enlisting the help of the obligatory Eurovision Song Contest wind machine and a lot of chiffon and powder paint in the colours of the Moldovan flag. Moldova: Spotlight on Aliona Moon

Moldova – Today’s featured artist is Moldova’s Aliona Moon.She will sing ‘O Mie‘ for her native country Moldova in May. It is her second consecutive time at Eurovision as she performed last year as one of Pasha Parfeny’s backing singers and dancers. Find out a little bit more about her… 

Moldova: Aliona Moon Confirms She will Sing in Romanian

Moldova – After several days of speculation, it has been confirmed that the Moldovan entry will this year be sung in Romanian. This year’s entrant, Aliona Moon, confirmed on her twitter this afternoon that she had decided to sing in Romanian and tweeted the Romanian version of the song ‘O Mie‘. Check it out.

Moldova: It’s Aliona Moon for Malmo!

Moldova – In the last national final of this season, Moldova has chosen to send Aliona Moon to Malmö to represent them! After the public televoting Boris Covali and Aliona Moon were in 1st and 2nd place with 12 and 10 points. The jury gave their 12 points to Aliona Moon and only 8 to Boris, so the final result saw Aliona Moon win the golden ticket. Check out a previous performance of the winning song, ‘A Million‘

Moldova – Fourteen acts will battle it out tonight in the last national final of the season; the Moldovan national final O Melodie Pentru Europa 2013. Moldova: Results of Second Semi-final

Moldova – Seven more acts have qualified for Saturday’s national final tonight in Chisinau. Whilst votes were counted, former Eurovision Moldova winner Geta Burlacu performed with Angry Band, including a cover of Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’. Check out who the seven qualifiers were.

Moldova – In the first of three live shows aired by TRM this week, Moldova has just chosen its first 7 finalists for Saturday’s national selection.Tonight’s first semi-final also saw performances from Pasha Parfeny, last year’s Moldovan entrant, and Zdob si Zdub (2005 and 2011).

Moldova: All Songs Online

Moldova – The 23 finalists in Moldova have now all selected their songs which they will perform in two semi-finals next week. There was a pot of 60 songs to chose from. Six acts from each semi-final will go through to the national final which takes place on March 16th. You can now read about the acts and composers and listen to all 23 songs.

Moldova: 24 Finalists Revealed

Molodva – Despite earlier fears of very few entries in Moldova, in the end it many acts had entered. The official selection jury has now reduced this down to 24 final acts. These acts will choose from a pot of 60 songs in the next two weeks. Songs have been received from Moldova, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Canada and the USA as the Moldovan composition rule has been abolished this year.

Moldova: Only 15 Artists Entered

Moldova – It looks like Moldova may struggle to have two semi-finals as originally planned this year after it was revealed only 15 artists have entered. The new rules there meant artists could not sing their own songs. Artists would be matched up with songs submitted by composers. Composers have submitted approximately 50 songs according to Jurnaltv.md.

Moldova: National Final for 2nd March

Moldova – Moldova has announced that its national final will be held on March 2nd 2013. TRM (Teleradio Moldova) has also announced that foreign composers will be allowed to enter for the first time an can submit songs alongside Moldovan composers.

Eurovision 2012: Today’s Rehearsals SF1

Eurovision 2012 – Today saw the resumption of rehearsals by acts in both semifinals. Russia kicked off this morning. They got a huge round of applause in the press conference where journalists were watching on the big screen. They’d also brought a large cut out of themselves where you could put your face in and be a granny!

Eurovision 2012: Second Day of Rehearsals Completed

Eurovision 2012 – Another day’s rehearsals have taken place at the Crystal Hall and reports coming through from Baku say the Russian grannies put on a good first performance, and Ireland had a nice fountain. Israel, San Marino, Cyprus, Hungary, Denmark, Austria and Moldova have also rehearsed. Pasha for Moldova got a bit racy.

Moldova: Pasha Parfeny Will Represent his Country

Moldova – Last night saw the Moldovans send Pasha Parfeny to Azerbiajan. He came out of top of the 21 Acts in last night’s O melodie pentru Europa, after a vote system using 50-50 jury and public televoting. The song he will sing in Baku is called “Lautar” but is sung in English. Moldova will compete in the first semi-final to be held in Baku on 22nd May.

Moldova: National Final to Choose Tonight

Moldova – Tonight is the final of the Moldovan national selection. You can watch it on Eurovision.tv at 18:30 (CET). 21 acts are competing for the coveted place in Baku, which will be chosen by a 50/50 mix of televoting and jury. 20 of the candidates were chosen by a jury out of all the proposals received during the open submission period, and one by Internet voting.

Moldova: Final Running Order Confirmed

Moldova – The line-up for this weekend’s national final in Chisinau is now known.  The final takes place on Sunday 11th March 18:30 (CET) and will be broadcast on Moldova 1, TV Moldova International, Radio Moldova and streamed live on the Internet.  The band Akord will now play  as a spot was made available after the withdrawal of Nelly Ciobanu. All songs can be listened to online.

Moldova: 20 Finalists Revealed

Moldova: Listen To The Songs – Nelly Ciobani and Sunstroke Project Return

Moldova – TRM, Moldovan official broadcaster, published today on their website the 31 songs that had been sent as candidates to represent the country in Baku. The highlight goes to Nelly Ciobanu, who represented Moldova in Eurovision 2009 with the song “Hora Din Moldova”. Back then, she only got the 14th place in the Final, but she wants to try again. Her song for 2012 is called “Turn On The Light”, and is sung entirely in English.

Moldova: Listen To The First Submissions

  Moldova – The Moldovan national broadcaster TRM has just published all submissions made for their national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 up until now. More songs are expected to be submitted before the deadline ends. Cristina Croitoru, Ruslan Taranu and Sasha Bognibov are former national final entrants that have returned. Ralph Siegel and Bernd Meinunger as the composers of “Save a Little Sunshine”.

Moldova: National Final on March 10

  Moldova – Today, Moldovan national broadcaster TRM revealed that the national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 will be held on March 10. Moldova will thus choose its entry on the same day as Sweden and Portugal and will thus be one of the last countries choosing their act. Songs may be submitted to TRM until January 16.

Moldova sends “Zdob şi Zdub – So Lucky” to Eurovision

Moldova - Tonight a 50/50 combination of televoting and the verdict of an expert jury in Moldova decided that Zdob şi Zdub should represent the Eastern European country in Düsseldorf with their song  “So Lucky”. The Chisinau based band is no newcomer at the Eurovision Song Contest. They were Moldova’s debut entry in 2005 and came 6th with their energetic song “Boonika Bate Toba”. Nineteen artists competed for the Moldovan ticket tonight. 

Moldova Decides – O Melodie Pentru Europa

Moldova - Moldova will choose its entry for Düsseldorf tonight. The national final has a Eurovision-like extent: 25 songs will compete for the Moldovan ticket to Germany. The decision will be taken by a mixture of 50% tele and 50% jury voting. Former Moldovan representatives Natalia Barbu and Zdob şi Zdub will be making their comeback on the national final stage. Moldova: The 25 Finalists

Moldova -The Moldovan national broadcaster has announced the 25 acts that have qualified for their national final to be held on February 26. ” O melodie pentru Europa 2011″ sees the return of the first Moldovan representatives ever: Zdop si Zdup. The broadcaster had originally received 98 songs that have, in two qualification phases, been reduced to 25. These are the lucky finalists:

Moldova – The Moldovan national broadcaster has now released the 98 songs which were submitted to them. Earlier they had expressed their discontent about the low number of submissions. Here you can listen to the songs. A jury will pick at most 30 entries which will qualify for the next, televised stage of the competition.

Moldova: TRM disappointed

Moldova - According to media reports the Moldovan national broadcaster TRM is very disappointed by the low number of submissions  and namely also by the low quality of the songs for their national final. However, the submission deadline will not pass until Tuesday. The eccentric performer Sasha Bognibov announced his participation with a song called Do you (k)now I love a girl. The countries 2007 representative Natalia Barbu will also participate in “O melodie pentru Europa 2011″
