IsraelIsrael - Moran Mazor, This year’s entrant for Israel, has been banned from wearing a John Galliano dress. In a recent interview with news website Mako, Mazor explained her stylist had reached out to several Israeli and international designers to design her dress. IsraelIsrael – Tonight’s final of Kdam saw Moran Mazor selected as Israel’s representative in Malmö. Moran will perform for Israel in the second semi-final on May 16th, singing ‘Rak bishvilo‘. IsraelIsrael – This week sees the next national final of the season, Kdam, when Israel will pick their representative for Malmö. This takes place on Thursday night. During the final, a jury will have a 30% say in the overall vote whilst the other 70% of the vote will go to the televoting public. Check out the finalists. IsraelIsrael – The third semi-final of Kdam takes place tonight at 20.00 (CET). 6 songs have already qualified, with 2 going into the 2nd chance pot. Another 3 songs will qualify tonight. IsraelIsrael – The Israeili national selection kicks off in two weeks time and broadcaster IBA today released more details. The 5 shows will be hosted by Orna Datz and Ron Shahar. Datz is a well knows singer, actor and news anchor, and represented Israel in ESC 1991 (3rd place). Shahar is an actor, model and tv presenter. Israel: Thirty Songs Chosen!

IsraelIsrael – An internal selection panel of music industry experts has chosen the 30 songs which will go forward in this year’s national final of Kdam-Eurovision 2013. Broadcaster IBA said that hundreds of songs had been received up until the closing date on 16th January. The thirty chosen will now be split into three heats next month.   Israel – “Israel goes Melodifestivalen” would probably the best summary of the new national final concept that the Israeli national broadcaster IBA has announced for the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö. Malmö 2013: Israel Threatens to Withdraw

  Israel – The embassy of Israel in Sweden has threatened that Israel may withdraw from the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, if strong security measures required by its delegation will not be granted by Swedish national broadcaster SVT. Israel is concerned about the situation in the host city of 2013, Malmö, which had made headlines especially in 2009 for anti-Israeli protests and riots. (more…)

  Israel – Despite another disappointing result and low ratings of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Israel, the national broadcaster IBA has decided not to withdraw from the competition and to organize a national final “KDAM” in 2013. RussiaEurovision 2012 – Another day’s rehearsals have taken place at the Crystal Hall and reports coming through from Baku say the Russian grannies put on a good first performance, and Ireland had a nice fountain. Israel, San Marino, Cyprus, Hungary, Denmark, Austria and Moldova have also rehearsed. Pasha for Moldova got a bit racy. (more…)

Israel – There’s been a flurry of new videos from Eurovision acts this week, and Israel are the latest to release one. Izabo, Israel’s representatives in Baku this month, have released ‘Time‘ in English and you can watch the new video on their YouTube channel. Israel: Izabo Song Revealed

Israel – Izabo’s eurovision entry for 2012 “Time” has been officially released on the site Mako. The song is an uptempo alternative disco-electro song that will most certainly be quite different from most songs in the competition. Israel was drawn in the second half of the first semi-final, to take place in Baku on Tuesday 22nd of May. You can here the song here.

Israel: Izabo To Baku!

Israel - Today, the Israeli national broadcaster decided internally to send the group Izabo to Eurovision Song Contest 2012. IBA picked seven artists, including Maya Buskila, Vladi Bleiberg, Tzvika Pick and others, to send their songs. Then, an internal committee selected Izabo’s song “Time”, described as electronic Pop with an oriental flavour. (more…)

Israel: IBA To Choose Among Eight Artists

Israel - The Israeli national broadcaster, IBA, revealed that eight artists were chosen to submit their songs to represent the Holy Land in Eurovision Song Contest 2012. They will be asked in the beginning of the next week to send their songs until February and one of them will have the chance to represent Israel in Azerbaijan. IBA haven’t announced who the eight artists are until now, but said that the chosen one will be announced by the end of February, and will be chosen internally by a committee. (more…)

  Israel – The special committee Israel’s national broadcaster IBA is in the process of selecting the country’s candidate for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Four potential performers were rumored by the local press, but some already declined to represent Israel in Baku. Idan Raichel confirms that he can not participate due to preparations for his new album.   Israel – The corpse of Kdam 2012 is barely cold that the first rumors are already starting to cerculate in Israeli media about whom the national broadcaster IBA will select to represent Israel in Baku. As previously reported,  Kdam 2012 was cancelled due to organizational and budget problems.   Israel – So the rumors were true: IBA, the Israeli national broadcaster has announced that the Kdam-Eurovision, Israel’s traditional national final, has been cancelled. IBA will select the entry to represent Israel in Baku internally. KDAM was supposed to return with a new concept. Every artist was supposed to sing two different songs. Editorial: Harel Skaat’s New Song

Editorial by escadele – Israeli heart-throb Harel Skaat has released a new song. His new single 21st Century is the first song he’s released since his, dare I say it, amazing performance of Milim, representing Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. 21st Century is certainly different from  what we have seen previously from Harel, but his angelic voice is complimented by this mid-tempo pop song with the violins going on in there. What’s more, is that the song is made from REAL MUSIC! Not that horrible synthetic drums, bass, piano etc (*cough* Jedward  *cough*). (more…)

Israel: Revamped Version of Ding Dong

Israel – The Israeli representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, Dana International, has released a revamped version of her entry “Ding, Dong” The 1998 Eurovision winner had promised to remake her song in a more modern version. Israel – Tonight the final of Kdam 2011, the Israeli national final, was held and Dana International emerged as the winner. The 1998 Eurovision winner will thus return to the Eurovision stage and try to follow Johnny Logan in winning the contest twice as a singer. She won the jury vote and came second in the televote with her song “Ding Dong” thus winning the competition. After the reprise she thanked the Israeli people and said “I love Israel”. Israel - Except the Melodifestivalen on Saturday this will be the last national final of the 2011 season: Tonight, Israel will choose their representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.Ten artists will compete for the right to fly the Israeli flag in Germany. Israel - On March 8, Israel will be one of the last countries to select their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. As Vladi Blayberg has withdrawn from the national final “Kdam” because his father is very ill, there has been a change in the line-up: The Israeli broadcaster IBA has announced today, the void place in the final will be filled by Adi Casare and his song “Suicide for love”. Israel – The Israeli national broadcaster IBA has just revealed the participants of their selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 to be held in Germany. Among the 10 participants is the Eurovision winner of 1997, Dana International. The national final will be aired on March 8. In recent years IBA had internally nominated an artist to represent the country and the Israeli public could only choose the song.
