hungaryHungary – When we saw that ByeAlex was featured in the latest Hungarian Playboy, and the website wanted us to say we were over 18 to view it, we weren’t quite sure what to expect! What followed was just a short (and fully clothed) interview however. You can read it here in Hungarian with the help of Google Translate. ByeAlex has also just released a new song, ‘Nekemte‘, and you can listen to that here.

HungaryHungary – In Hungary last night, ByeAlex won A Dal and the ticket to Malmö. After all 8 acts had perfomred, the jury chose four acts for the superfinal: András Kállay-Saunders (46 points), Gigi Radics (44 points), Tamás Vastag (22 points) and ByeAlex (16 points). Hungary: National Final!

hungaryHungary – We will know another song for Eurovision 2013 this evening as the Hungarian final reaches its conclusion. HungaryHungary – Tonight sees semi-final 2 take place in Hungary’s national selection A Dal. 9 more acts are battling it out to secure the last four places in next week’s national final.  You can watch tonight at 20.15 (CET) here. Check out who is still in the competition. In each semi-final, the jury will first choose two finalists. The televoters will then select two more qualifiers out of the remaining seven acts. (more…)

hungaryHungary – The first four finalists were tonight decided for the A Dal final. Two acts were chosen by the jury, András Kállay-Saunders and Gergő Rácz. Next up, Ildikó Keresztes and Laura Cserpes qualified via the televoting. Tomorrow will see the 2nd semi-final take place, with another 4 qualifiers being chosen.

HungaryHungary – Hungary’s national selection A Dal has chosen 18 acts from an original 30 to go through from the heats to the semi-final stage. Hungary: Six More Qualify

HungaryHungary – In tonight’s second heat in Hungary the ten acts in this heat were reduced to a final six. HungaryHungary – The second of three A Dal heats takes place tonight starting at 20:15 (CET) and will run until 22.00 (CET). 10 more acts battle it out to go forward to the national final. HungaryHungary – The line-ups for the three A Dal heats have been revealed by the Hungarian broadcaster MTVA. It is understood that rehearsals took place behind closed doors yesterday and it is hoped some filmed rehearsals will take place tomorrow. The heats begin on 2nd February. The three heats will take place on the 2nd, 9th, and the 16th of February, and the exact running order of each has yet to be decided. HungaryHungary – Many of the 30 songs which will compete in this year’s A Dal final in Hungary have been posted online by Zene.hu. Check out the songs here. 10 songs will take part in each of the 3 heats on the 2nd, 9th and 16th of February before two semi-finals.

hungaryHungary – At this rate we’re not sure if Hungary will have any songs left by the time of their A Dal national final. A third song has now apparently been withdrawn for breaking the rules. Yet again it was a breach of the date rule due to having performed or published their song before 1st September 2012.That means we have seen withdrawals by Szirtes Edina MókusThe Hated Tomorrow and Egy Másik Zenekar in the last week! Eurovision 2012 – Today saw the resumption of rehearsals by acts in both semifinals. Russia kicked off this morning. They got a huge round of applause in the press conference where journalists were watching on the big screen. They’d also brought a large cut out of themselves where you could put your face in and be a granny! (more…)

RussiaEurovision 2012 – Another day’s rehearsals have taken place at the Crystal Hall and reports coming through from Baku say the Russian grannies put on a good first performance, and Ireland had a nice fountain. Israel, San Marino, Cyprus, Hungary, Denmark, Austria and Moldova have also rehearsed. Pasha for Moldova got a bit racy. (more…)

Hungary: Eurovision Entry By Orbán’s Grace?

  Hungary – In a surprise move the Hungarian national broadcaster MTV announced that the winner of the super final at the Hungarian national final will be determined by jury only. The expert jury will thus have the last word in the decision who will represent Hungary in Baku. Originally the expert jury was only supposed to have an influence of 50% on the result. Out of the eight finalists the audience will determine the four super finalists through televoting.  (more…)

  Hungary -  Yesterday the first semi-final of the Hungarian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest was held in Budapest. Ten artists competed for four places in the national final.  The qualifiers were: Gyurcsik Tibor, Fábián Juli & Zoohacker, The Kiraly’s and Veres Mónika. Hungary: Details About The National Final Revealed

Hungary – The Hungarian national broadcaster, MTV, announced the receivement of more than 200 entries to the national final, which is starting this month. The large number of songs made MTV change the previous rules for the final: intially, the jury would choose only 16 artists. Now, they’re going to choose 20, allocating 10 to each semi-final. Hungary: András Kállay-Saunders Submits Song

  Hungary – Singing model András Kállay-Saunders has submitted a song for this year’s Hungarian selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Saunders came to fame as a participant of the popular Hungarian casting show “Megasztár”, in which he impressed vocally as well as visually and came 4th. His current single Csak veled is currently a Top 10 hit in Hungary. The song he submitted for the national selection is called “I love you” (more…)

Hungary: National Selection With Two Semi-Finals

  Hungary – The popularity of the Eurovision Song Contest in Hungary has risen in recent years and especially last year. Today the Hungarian national broadcaster has announced that Hungary will choose its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku through a national final instead of an internal selection. At a press conference today the broadcaster started an open call for songs, which can be submitted until December 20. The national selection will consist of two semi-finals and a national final. Eurovision 2011 – The new videos and revamped versions are pouring in right before the Heads of Delegations meeting in Düsseldorf this Monday. Hungary has tonight revealed its official preview video (which I can’t see in Germany), Croatia has revealed a new English version of the song “Lahor” which is entitled “Celebrate”. The initial title “Break A Lag” has thus been changed for obvious reasons. The Netherlands have also released the English version of their entry called “Never alone“.
