Georgia - “Waterfall”, the Georgian Song to be performed by Nodi Tatishvili and Sophie Gelovani in Malmo was finally revealed to the world during a press conference held this morning (27th February. “Waterfall” was written by G:Son who has been in serious demand after co-writing last years winning song “Euphoria”. georgiaGeorgia – It has been revealed today that the Georgian entry for Malmö will be entitled ‘Waterfall’. The song, sung by Sophie Gelovan and Nodi Tatishvili, is expected to be released in a week’s time but you can hear a small preview in a video released on Georgian TV showing the recording of the song in the studio. Voting Oddities: Lithuania + Georgia = Love

  Voting Analysis – The Eurovision voting is infamous for its exchange of 12 points between neighbors. The most well-known example being the couple  Greece-Cyprus. Recently Romania-Moldova and Turkey-Azerbaijan have been added to the harmonious couples. There is one pair however that seems like a misfit: Lithuania and Georgia. Every year the exchange of high points makes me wonder: What do these two countries have in common? (more…)

Eurovision 2012 – A further five acts have this morning completed their second rehearsals. Slovenia, Croatia, Sweden, Georgia and Turkey have all now had several run throughs each, and we’ve got a feel for what it may look and sound like in the semi finals. Georgia – Georgia’s representative, Anri Jokhadze has, at this late stage, revealed a different version of ‘I’m a Joker’ for Baku. There are no lyrical or vocal changes, but there are new added instruments and slightly changed song arrangements. The Georgian team have since strangely removed the link from the Internet. Georgia: Anri Jokhadze Chosen for Baku

Georgia – From the 9 acts that have just performed in the national final in Tbilisi, Anri Jokhadze has been chosen for Eurovision 2012 with ‘I’m a jocker‘. Many of the acts were of a rock genre. Georgia will participate in the 2nd half of the semi-final on 24th May in Baku. Last year’s entrant, Eldrine, also performed on the show, as did Candy Music, the Junior Eurovision 2011 winners. Georgia: Running Order Announced

Georgia – The  running order for Georgia’s national final was revealed today. A final 9 acts will take part in the selection contest on Sunday 19th February (15:30 CET). The show will be broadcast on Georgian  channel 1TV. Georgia competes in the second semi-final on May 24th. (more…)

Georgia Confirms Participation

  Georgia – The Georgian national broadcaster GPB has told esctoday.com that they will be present at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 which will be held in neighbouring country Azerbaijan. The broadcaster has not yet decided which selection process will be applied to select their entry for Baku. Georgia had debuted in the 2007 contest in Helsinki. They participated every year since then, except for 2009 when their entry “We don’t wanna put in” was prohibited from entering the competition held in Moscow due to the political lyrics (Putin). Preview Videos - Currently the preview videos of the 43 Eurovision entries are starting to pour in and are presented on the official YouTube channel of eurovision.tv Today we have the Finnish, Romanian, Spanish and Georgian preview videos for you to enjoy. Furthermore Serbia has published an English version of their entry called “Magical”. It has been confirmed however, that Serbia will perform the entire entry in its national language. (more…)

Georgia: Eldrine Release Final Version

Georgia – Eldrine, the Georgian representatives at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest have revealed the revamped version of their entry “One More Day” today. A week ago the management of the band had announced that Tako Vadachkoria, who was the band’s lead singer at the Georgian national final, would no longer be the most recognizable face of the band as she would be replaced by Sopho Toroshelidze. Sopho had been one of the backing singers in last year’s Eurovision Song Contest for  Sophia Nizharadze. She has also participated in the (more…)

Georgia: Eldrine Exchanges Front Singer

Georgia – The band Eldrine had been selected to represent Georgia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 2 weeks ago. Now the band has announced that they have changed their front singer. Tako Vadachkoria will no longer be the most recognizable face of the band and is replaced by Sopho Toroshelidze. Sopho had been one of the backing singers in last year’s Eurovision Song Contest for  Sophia Nizharadze. She has also participated in the casting show “Star Academy”. She graduated from the Ivane Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire and is said to have a brilliant voice. (more…)

Georgia sends “Eldrine – One more day” to Eurovision

Georgia -This afternoon the Georgian national final was held in Tiblisi. The band Eldrine and their song “One more day” were chosen to represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Germany. The entry was chosen by a mixture of jury and televotes. Seven artists had competed this afternoon. Eldrine consists of six musicians: Tamar Vadachkoria (vocals), Mikheil Chelidze, Irakli Bibilashvili, David Changoshvili, Tamar Shekiladze and Beso Tsikhelashvili. Georgia Decides – National Final at 15:30 CET

Georgia -This afternoon the Georgian national final will be held in Tiblisi. As Tako Gachechiladze withdrew due to a flu virus and Boris Bedia and Keti Orjonikidze have withdrawn their entries, only 7 artist are left to compete for the Georgian ticket to Düsseldorf. Georgia: Listen To The Ten Finalists

Georgia -The Georgian national broadcaster GPB has revealed the ten finalists of their selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. These finalists were chosen out of a pool of about 50 submission by an internal jury of the broadcaster. The national final is set to be held on February 19. Georgia: Low Interest in Eurovision?

Georgia – As they have only received 30 songs, the Georgian national broadcaster GPB has extended the deadline to submit songs for the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. Submissions can still be sent to the broadcaster until February 10. An expert jury will then select a number of entries for the national final expected to be held in mid February. Georgia: Call for songs

Georgia – Authors and composers have until February 5, to submit their songs for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 to the Georgian national broadcaster GPB. As opposed to last year, when Sophia Nizharadse was chosen internally, a national final will be held this year. More details about artists e.t.c have not been disclosed yet. Bulgaria and Georgia confirm participation

Bulgaria, Georgia – Oh happy Eurovision times: novinar.net reports that BNT, the Bulgarian national broadcaster has sent its application for the Eurovision Song Contest to the EBU on November 26. The selection procedure for the Bulgarian participant in Düsseldorf will soon be disclosed.In the last months rumors about financial problems of BNT had fed rumors about a possible withdrawal of the Balkan country.
