macedoniaFYR Macedonia – Breaking news is that the new Macedonian song is entitled ‘Pred da se razdeni‘ (Before The Dawn). It is now expected that Esma & Vlatko will present the gypsy-music based song on Friday during the country’s evening news at 19.00 (CET). It will replace the previously released song ‘Imperija‘.

Eurovision Eurovision 2013 – Two more songs will be revealed tomorrow, those of France and FYR Macedonia. Amandine Bourgeois of France will premiere “L’enfer et Moi” tomorrow at 10:00 (CET) on Spotify here. The new unamed Macedonian song, to be sung by Esma & Vlatko replaces ‘Imperija‘. The new song will air on a tv show on Wednesday night and will be ‘gypsy-style’.

macedoniaFYR Macedonia – More drama today as news broke in FYR Macedonia that it will be changing its song! The song ‘Imperija’ by Esma Redzepova and Vlatko Lozanoski was not well received by the media, and the local press have speculated that this has forced the change of heart. They also claim that the new song will be composed by Darko Dimitrov, and it will be ‘catchy and rhythmic’. It has to be revealed by 18th March.

macedoniaFYR MacedoniaEsma Redžepova and Vlatko Lozanoski-Lozano will promote their entry across Europe prior to their Malmö appearance. The pair will sing “Imperija” at the Armenian final on March 2nd, the Bulgarian final on March 3rd, Eurovision In Concert in Amsterdam on March 13th and in Albania on March 14th. We’ll get to hear “Imperija” for the first time next Wednesday.

macedoniaFYR Macedonia – It has been revealed this evening that the song that Esma Redžepova and Vlatko Lozanovski-Lozano will sing in Malmö for FYR Macedonia is called “Imperija” (Empire). The song was composed by Simeon Atanasov, Dejan Momirovski and Borče Nečovski. A show is timetabled for 27th February in the MKRTV studio to show the official video for the first time. (more…)

macedoniaFYR Macedonia – Here’s another date for the diary. FYR Macedonia’s national broadcaster, MKRTV, has announced today that the song that Esma Redzepova and Vlatko Lozanoski will sing in Malmo is to be aired on 27th of February. The duet will sing some Macedonian folk songs on the tv programme as well as their song for Eurovision 2013 and we can all watch it via the Eurovision.tv website.

macedoniaFYR Macedonia – It was confirmed today that Vlatko Lozanoski and Esma Redžepova will be singing a song written by Simeon Atanasov (Esma’s son) which is entitled Opsesija (Obsession), although this title may change. Esma is known as the Queen of gypsy music. FYR Macedonia’s entry for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö will be presented in Studio 3 of MKRTV at the end of February.

Kaliopi did a beautiful version of her song and then an Azeri song too, and carried out interviews on the carpet in the middle of the old city. Kaliopi tonight premiered the song she will sing for FYR Macedonia  in Baku. On a lengthy show she demostrated several talents. She sings her own songs, writes them, acts, dances, and tells jokes/ does comedy sketches. Kaliopi has previously represented her country in ESC 1996. This year’s song ‘Crno i Belo‘ (Black and White) was eventually then sung twice in Macedonian and once in English. Have a listen to it and tell us what you think of it: (more…)

Kaliopi for MacedoniaFYR Macedonia – Eurovision viewers will be able to see the first performance of Kaliopi singing her entry  ‘Crno i belo‘ for FYR Macedonia tonight for the first time. The event will be streamed live on Eurovision.tv at 21.00 (CET) for 90 minutes via MKTV1. The song translates as ‘Black and White‘ and was written by Kaliopi herself alongside Romeo Gill. Kaliopi was chosen internally by MKTV.

Kaliopi for Macedonia  Macedonia – Kaliopi, who will represent her home country Macedonia at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest has selected the song she will compete with in Baku. The entry is called “Black and White” and as reported earlier will be performed in Macedonia. Kaliopi for Macedonia  FYR MacedoniaESCxtra.com reports that the Macedonian song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 will be determined in 2012. The popular singer Kaliopi has already been internally selected to represent the Balkan country in Azerbaijan next year. The songs will not be found through an open call, but certain songwriters will be contacted directly and Kaliopi will choose a yet undetermined number of songs. These will be presented in the selection show in February, where the Macedonian audience will be able to choose Kaliopi’s entry for Baku. (more…)

  FYR Macedonia – The traditional Skopje Fest, which has served as Macedonia’s national final for years will no longer have this purpose. These news come as no surprise as Macedonia has already internally selected the popular singer Kaliopi at the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku.   FYR Macedonia – The Macedonian national broadcaster MKRTV announced tonight, that popular pop-diva Kaliopi will represent the Balkan country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku. Kaliopi is one of the most recognisable names of the Balkan music scene and has received numerous awards. She is known for her strong voice and signature high-pitch scream.She was the Macedonian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 1996 but didn’t make it past the qualification round. (more…)

FYR Macedonia – The official Macedonian preview video for the Eurovision Song Contest  was presented 3 days ago. The filming of the video lasted 12 hours and included a cast of 12 performers featuring top Macedonian fashion model Elena Trajanovska. She is best known as the only Macedonian selected at the casting for new models in the fashion agency Woman in Milan. The video was filmed in HD by the director Bosko Stollic. (more…)

FYR Macedonia – After over 4 hours of national final, Macedonia has taken its decision about whom to send to Düsseldorf. Vlatko Illievski was the favourite of both the jury and the televoters. He will represent Macedonia in Germany with his song “Rusinka”. A total of 20 artists had competed for the honour of representing the Balkan country. Vlatko Ilievski, born in 1985, is a Macedonian rock singer. He was the runner-up to be the Macedonian entry for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. He previously appeared at Eurovision in 2005 as backing vocals for (more…)

LIVE: Macedonia Decides – Final of Skopski Festival

FYR Macedonia - Tonight the Macedonian national final will be held and the country’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 will be chosen. In the “Skopski Festival” 20 artists will compete for the right to fly the Macedonian flag in Düsseldorf. The 20 competitors were chosen out of almost 90 submissions. Gjoko Taneski and Femminem will appear as guest stars.

Today with news from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Slovenia, Macedonia, Finland, the Netherlands and Portugal

Netherlands – The 3Js, the Dutch representatives at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will probably sing their entry “Je vecht nooit alleen” (I don’t fight alone”) in its English version.

Armenia - Gohar Gasparyan,the Armenian Head of Delegation has told OGAE Armenia that the Armenian national final, originally scheduled for February 19th might be postponed. The 4 entries that the internally selected artist Emmy will perform in the national final will be disclosed on February 10.

Azerbaijan – Aaand it has happened again: Azerbaijan’s national broadcaster IctimaiTV has announced a change of the date for the national final. The Azeri entry will be chosen out of 5 competitors on February 11. Let’s hope this will be the final change of the selection process in the Caucasian country.

FYR Macedonia – The Macedonian national broadcaster has revealed the participants of “Skopje Fest 2011″. The line-up includes a number of former national final participants such as Nade Talevska and Vodolija (2009, 2010), Emilija Gievska, Zdravka Mirčevska and Riste Tevdovski (2009), Vlatko Ilievski (2008,2010), Filip Jordanovski (2006,2009), Lidija Kočovska (1995) and Dule i Koki (1998). Macedonia - The Macedonian national broadcaster has revealed that a total of 88 songs have been submitted for “Skopje 2011″. 20 have been selected for the televised stage of the selection process.
