Bulgaria – in a recent interview, Bulgarian representatives Elitsa and Stoyan have revealed there will be surprises in their final performance in Malmo this May. They haven’t given all the details away but they did reveal they have enlisted the help of backing singers from Dragostin Folk National Formation of Professor Stefan Dragostinov who will help keep the traditional sound of the song alive.

Bulgaria – After a selection show that allowed the public to vote for their favourite song, the Bulgarians have now decided to disqualify ‘Kismet’, and send ‘Samo Shampioni’ (Only Champions) instead. Bulgaria – In February it was announced by BNT that their 2007 entrants Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankulov-Stundzhi would be representing their country again. Bulgaria – Elitsa Todorova & Stoyan Yankoulov today premiered the their three offerings for Eurovision 2013. These songs were “Dzupai Libe Boso”, “Kismet” and “Samo Shampioni”. The songs were performed by the duo on the TV Talk Show NedeliaX3 which aired on BNT1. Elitsa and Stoyan were picked internally and are no newbies to the contest after representing Bulgaria back in 2007 with “Water”. (more…)

Bulgaria – The Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT have just announced that Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankulov will be the internally selected representatives of Bulgaria in Malmö. The pair last represented their country in 2007. Five songs will be presented to the committee by Elitsa and Stoyan, and the committee will choose three to go to the national final which will be held on 3rd March at 19.45 (CET). (more…)
Bulgaria: Public Will Vote for Song

Bulgaria – The Bulgarian broadcaster BNT has announced that this year’s selection will be an internal selection for the artist and a public selection for the song. The jury’s choice of artist will be announced on the 10th of February and the artist will then submit 5 songs. Three of these songs will be chosen by the jury and officially announced and shown live on the Nedelya x 3 program on the 17th of February 2013.

Eurovision 2012 – In the last couple of days three ladies have released new versions of their 2012 Eurovision entries. Sabina Babayeva from Azerbaijan recorded a jazz version of “When the Music Dies”. After a version in Azerbaijani and an ethnic version, this is the third new arrangement for the song. Bulgaria- Bulgaria is one of the least successful Eurovision countries at the moment. In 8 participations they only managed to qualify to the final once. The Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT, as well as OGAE Bulgaria and eurovision-bg.com have now started a survey together. They want to find out what the reasons for the bad result are. Bulgaria – At a press conference of the Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT, Sofi Marinova expressed her satisfaction with the result. She didn’t make it to the final only due to a tie-break rule that eventually worked in favor of Norway. Her 11th place in the semi-final is one of Bulgaria’s best results since it started participating. During the press conference BNT also confirmed their participation in Eurovision 2013 in Sweden. Bulgaria – Sofi Marinova will represent Bulgaria at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest with the song ‘Love Unlimited’ (Lyubov bez granitsi) after winning tonight’s Bulgarska Pesen Na Evrovizija. The song received over 3,000 votes more than the second place entry “Love Is Alive” in the televote, and she eventually won the final by over 4,000 votes. Bulgaria: Final of Bulgarska Pesen Na Evrovizija Tonight

Bulgaria – 12 acts will compete against each toger tonight in the the Bulgarian national final in Sofia at 19:30 (CET). Voting will be by a combination of jury and public votes. The show will be broadcast live on BNT 1 and BNT World and you can also watch the show live on the Internet via Eurovision.tv. Bulgaria – According to Eurovision-bg.com, DesiSlava is the hot favourite to win the Bulgarian ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku as she won both the jury and the televoting in the Bulgarian semi-final. Apparently the jury wildcard went to Desislava, while the televoting wildcard went to Sofi Marinova. According to the website Desislava still was the favorite of the televoters as well, but as she had already qualified the wildcard went to the runner-up. (more…)
Bulgaria – BNT, the national Bulgarian broadcaster, tonight held the semifinal for Eurovision 2012. 22 acts were competing for a place in the final next month. The decision was made by the Academy (the jury), and viewers via SMS voting, and the lengthy and somewhat not very exciting show was hosted by singer/actor Milenita and actor Alexander Sano. The top two acts that were the favourites of the jury and the viewers were (as expected) Dess, and Sofi Marinova, and these went directly through to the final. (more…)

Bulgaria – The Bulgarian national BNT has revealed the running order for the semi-final of their national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest which is set to be held on January 14. Initially two semi-finals were planned in December but apparently officials at BNT have changed their mind. Twelve of the 22 semi-finalists will qualify to the national final, which is supposed to be held in February (no date announced yet). Bulgaria – Yesterday one of the biggest favourites to win the Bulgarian ticket to Baku, Desislava performed her entry “Love Is Alive” on the Bulgarian channel btv. Desislava will compete against 10 other artists in one of the semi-finals of the Bulgarian selection. Another 11 artist will compete in the other semi-final. 6 songs from each show will qualify for the Bulgarian final. The semi-finals will be held on January 14 and 21 respectively. (more…)

Bulgaria– The Bulgarian singer DesiSlava (Деси Слава) is one of the 22 semi-finalists announced yesterday as the qualifiers for the Bulgarian national final. A video has appeared which shows a part of her performance in front of the Academy which chose the qualifiers. In the video Desi Slava is interviewed about her participation and says that the song was composed by Symphonics, which also composed this year’s Bulgarian entry “Na Inat” for Poli Genova. Bulgaria – The Bulgarian Academy-jury of professional musicians, music critics and journalists has chosen 22 semi-finalists out of the 33 songs presented today after 6 hours of live auditions, behind closed doors.
These 22 semi-finalists move on to the next phase of the Bulgarian national final, the two semis. No dates have been confirmed for the semi-finals or the final, though it is almost certain the final (more…)
Bulgaria – The Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT has just released a list of 33 entries that proceed to the next round of the national final. An Academy of professional musicians, music critics and journalists had listened to the entries that had been submitted to BNT and chose the most promising ones. Bulgaria: Poli Genova and Miro as Casting Show Jury Members

Bulgaria – Bulgaria’s two most recent Eurovision contestants Poli Genova (“Na Inat“) and Miro (“Angel Si Ti“) have become jury panel members of two popular Bulgarian casting shows. Miro is one of four judges on “Glasat Na Bulgaria“, the Bulgarian version of the international franchise “The Voice of....”. Miro is the representative of pop on the show, while the other judges represent pop/rock, Bulgarian chalga and Bulgarian rock. Bulgaria – Yesterday was the submission deadline for the Bulgarian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. The so-called “Academy”, a gathering of popular and experienced members of the Bulgarian music scene will start to select the semi-finalists out of the submitted entries. Bulgaria – ESCdaily.com reports that it has reliable sources which are stating that two songs that can be found on YouTube are entries to the Bulgarian national final.
The first song is called “Keep Me Down” and performed by Svetlio Hristov, who has participated in the US version of X-Factor. In Bulgaria he has participated in the shows Music Academy and 5 Stars. (more…)
Bulgaria – Tonight Bulgaria became the 17th country to select its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. Poli Genova and her song “Na Inat” (Stubborn) emerged as the clear winner of the selection receiving 12 from both the juries and the televote. Bulgaria – BNT, the Bulgarian national broadcaster has aired short previews of all the entries competing in their national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. The national final will be held next Wednesday. 4 acts have withdrawn from the competition due to reasons ranging from family issues to scheduling conflicts. Sunrize feat.
