Belgium 2013Malmö 2013 – The 26 acts participating in tonight’s grand final have less than three hours left before the show starts. Some are chilling, some are eating, some are still doing interviews. We just had a very nice acoustic performance of ‘Love Kills‘ from Belgium‘s Roberto Bellarosa out in the fan area of the press centre for live Swedish TV. moriska-paviljongenMalmö 2013 – Last night saw the talk shows at the Euro Cafe at Moriskan. Eurovision Times popped up after a long day at the arena to catch Austria and Bulgaria and are glad we did! Austria’s Natalia Kelly did a rousing version of Katrina and the Waves ‘Love Shine a Light‘ and then Elitsa and Stojan of Bulgaria treated us to some amazing drumming and four songs! (more…)

Belgium – Belgium was the one of the first countries to reveal their artist way back in November when RTBF revealed Roberto Bellarosa would be representing them in Malmö. Let’s find out more! Born in 1994, Roberto Bellarosa attended the Music Academy of Huy to study music theory. It was here where his teacher noticed his special talent and encouraged him to take singing lessons. (more…)

belgiumBelgium – It’s just been announced on the official Eurosong.be’s twitter account that a new version of Belgium’s entry by Roberto Bellarosa will be revealed on Friday.  The new version of Love Kills will be heard for the first time along with the premiere of the song’s official video. The previous version can be watched here.

Belgium 2013Belgium – Running their national selection over the radio on a Sunday morning saw the Belgians choose ‘Love Kills‘ to be performed by Roberto Bellarosa in Sweden next year. BelgiumBelgium - The third song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be picked today. After Belarus last week and Switzerland yesterday, who both used a National Final with televote, Belgium will use a radio show to select an entry for internally chosen Roberto Bellarosa, out of three. Belgium – Pushed by the Internet rumors to confirm Roberto Bellarosa to the Eurovision Song Contest, the Belgian broadcaster RTBF has revealed all the details of the song selection for the first winner of The Voice Belgique who will be in charge to represent the country in Malmö. Belgium - Two days ago, Belgian broadcaster RTBF, in charge every two years of the participation of Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest, made the official announcement that… they would reveal more details about their 2013 participation. Belgium: Kate Ryan Would Do Eurovision Again

  Belgium – Kate Ryan represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens with the contemporary song “Je t’adore”. However, despite being one of the favorites due to her catalogue of hits, Ryan failed to even qualify for the Grand Final. Despite this Eurovision trauma, she has now revealed that she would be glad to represent Belgium again. Jury Votes of Ireland and Belgium Revealed

  Belgium/Ireland – The official German Eurovision website eurovision.de has contacted all 41  national broadcasters of the Eurovision Song Contest to ask them for the results of their jury voting. Eurovision 2012 – The first day’s rehearsals have been completed. Despite a initial 2 hour delay, Switzerland, Belgium and Finland have now all made their debuts on the Crystal Hall Stage. Plasma screens for the press to watch them weren’t delivered until late afternoon though; another unprepared moment in Baku to embarrass officials. See the rehearsals here: (more…)

Belgium – The Belgian public have chosen ‘Would You‘ as the song for Iris to sing in Baku. The 17-year-old presented the two ballads earlier this evening during a fifteen minute show. Iris for BelgiumBelgium – The Belgians will tonight pick a song for their entrant, Iris, to sing in Baku. There are two songs to choose between, both ballads: ‘Would You‘ and ‘Safety Net‘. Iris for BelgiumBelgium – Belgium will leave the selection of their song util the last minute. They will choose which song Iris will song in Baku… but not until  Saturday March 17th. Iris for Belgium   Belgium – Today the Belgian entrant at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, Iris, has listened to all the songs submitted to VRT, out of which she will select her entry for Baku. The submission period ended on January 16, but it was not revealed how many songs had been submitted. Iris had been chosen internally by VRT, she is from the label Sonic Angle that also represents Tom Dice, the last Flemish entry. (more…)

Belgium Sends Iris to Eurovision

  Belgium – The Flemish broadcaster VRT has announced today at a press conference that the Belgian entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 will be 16-year-old Iris. Iris (alias Laura Van Den Bruel) was discovered at a talent contest which she won and belongs to the same record label as 2010 Belgian Eurovision entrant Tom Dice. Recently she changed her stage name from “Airis” to Iris for a more international appeal. (more…)

Belgium – As the Belgian Eurovision website Belgovision.com reports, the Flemish broadcaster in Belgium, VRT, will present the Belgian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 tomorrow. In Belgium the Wallonian and Flemish television stations take turns in choosing the entry for Eurovision. Interview – This may the a capella group “Witloof Bay” will represent Belgium in Düsseldorf in the second semi-final. Their song is called “With love baby”. The six singers and musicians decided to start a new musical project in 2005. As they love jazz and pop a capella music, their style is centered around these musical genres. Belgium – Belgium has just decided upon its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf. The a capella cat “Witloof Bay” was the winner of the jury vote that made up 50% of the final result. Belgium – Tonight 14 acts will compete for the right to represent Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf in the national final “Qui? A vous de choisir”. The show will be broadcast from the “Salle des Mille” in the “Palais des Congrès” in Liège. Jean-Louis Lahaye will host the show, while Maureen Louys co-host of JESC 2005 will be in charge of the green room. Over the last months artists collecting over 20.000 euro on the online platform akamusic.com qualified for the second phase of the Belgian selection. Belgium – In a radio selection this morning the Belgian hopefuls for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany have been narrowed down from 30 to 14. Over the last months artists collecting over 20.000 euro on the online platform akamusic.com qualified for the second phase of the Belgian selection. 30 songs had still been in the running. The radio selection was introduced in order to reduce the number of entries for the televised national final. “Qui? A vous de choisir” will take place on February 12 in Lièges. Belgium : 30 songs qualified + new selection round added

Belgium – Noon, today, Belgium ended the very long first round of its Internet selection, with 32 songs reaching the 20,000 euros limit. Indeed, the format was different from the simple Internet vote. In order to ensure that people would really invest in the songs they supported, the RTBF made people actually pay money for the songs. Only the ones who invested in the song that will actually represent Belgium, however, will actually have to pay. The others will be reimbursed. (more…)
